Works just fine for gaming
My forearm has started to hurt recently because of more time gaming and an old injury. I decided to take the plunge and try a vertical mouse. I searched long and hard for one with a decent sensor and found this. I also wanted more than the standard 5/6 buttons since I play online games. This seemed to fit the bill.Prior to this, I was using a Roccat Kone XP. I got it for the sensor and extra buttons. It’s large an enough I was forced to use a palm grip just to reach everything.I felt immediate relief upon beginning to use this mouse. It took me maybe an hour to adjust. Much easier than the learning curve in a trackball. I noticed there was way more weight towards the back of the mouse and it tended to fall out of my grip at the back when lifting off on low sensitivity. I read the reviews here, and sure enough, others have mentioned a weight bolted in.It’s extremely easy to get to and just held in with one screw. You don't need to undo any wires. Actually, I didn’t even unplug it. It felt MUCH more balanced after removing the weight.Lift off distance is higher than a “real” gaming mouse but because of the shape you can angle this mouse to the side as you flick it back and the sensor lifts enough. So like more dragging than fully lifting off the desk. This works super well and feels natural. I use 600 dpi and have had no issues with the sensor freaking out.The button layout also feels a lot more natural with the little joystick thing than random buttons everywhere like the G502 or Kone XP. You also will never press any buttons on accident while gaming. Two of my favorite things about this mouse are the texture and the middle button. The texture feels soft and the whole time I use it my hand is happy. I love soft things and only wear soft clothes. Now I have a soft mouse! The middle button is laid out in such a way where I can always keep my middle finger over it as I play. This means I never have to alter my grip to press button 3 or use the scroll wheel. Also, the dpi button is easily reachable by just arching the middle finger and pushing farther back. It’s not a useless distance from your fingertip like on the Kone XP.Overall, I’m very happy with this mouse, even compared to high end gaming mice. If the buttons don’t last as long whatever. I will unscrew it and solder in new switches. If I mess up who cares it was $20. And it will also be an opportunity for upgrading the skates. If you’re considering this mouse, just get it!
