Note - I did not use these for seed germination yet. I used one for resin crafting - the other will be used for seed starting when it's not 5000 degrees outside here in Florida.The heat level is consistent, but not variable. There are no switches or knobs to adjust the base setting. It plugs into a standard outlet. The mat itself is a smooth matte vinyl, so I did cover it with parchment paper before I used it for resin in order to avoid making a huge mess. It really helped remove the stubborn bubbles in my resin dice.There is a warning that this, like most electronics, should not be submerged or exposed to standing water for a long period of time. Make sure you are using something with drainage holes OR have your seedlings otherwise contained so the water doesn't get on the mat.Anything that does spill wipes off quickly.This is about the size of a large desk mat and is relatively thin and non-obtrusive. The cord does not have a swivel head, so placement is important if you need things to stay level. It would be a great modification if they made these with a rotating/swivel outlet plug, but alas.The vinyl seems sturdy enough, but I do foresee it cracking down the line. Just be careful and avoid water intrusion.

Perfect temperature for starter plants. Germination rate was spot on and made it faster. Water proof and great quality. Size was good. Easy functionality. Great value for your 💰 money.

makes a huge difference indoors. we keep our house about 68 in the winter, these top that heat off perfectly. i took a second mat and placed it on top of my well watered peppers for 48 hours and they germinated right away after this. as soon as they germinate i move them onto a sunny window shelf and new planted seeds take the heat mat. currently have about 130 geraniums, peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes in 3 windows and all doing well. and just so you know, they barely get hot, probably not for outdoor greenhouses unless they're heated a bit. these worked wonders in my cool home in the winter.

Works well

I own at least 5 of these maybe more they are a great product do not use a ton of electricity and work very well when they are in a temperature controlled environment. They do not have to be in a heated area but they work much better at keeping soil temp constant for starting plants when the area they are in has a somewhat stable temperature it self. Really need the thermostat box to control temperature but when you use it the combo makes it very easy to sprout plants.

Warming mats help my into starts germinate faster. The cords are super long to place them where you need it to go. It isn’t hot to the touch. Gentle heat about 75-85 degrees. The material is very thick. Great price.

My tomatoes germinated SO quickly! Just be careful to keep an eye on them. Too much heat and not enough light will make them spindly.

I have been wanting these for quite some time and on prime day they were a lot cheaper so I decided to purchase them - will get to use them this next spring when I start my seeds.
