PolarProDJI Phantom 4 Filters-Cinema Series®-Shutter Collection (3-Pack)

I've managed to trash these filters (Vivid) after using them for over 15 months to the point that they are no longer usable (over 40 hours of flight time on a Phantom 4 original). If you fly often, expect to have to replace these filters twice a year or more depending on conditions. The reason is that, at least with my set, the coating, despite being effective, is so smeary that the dust in the case had already ruined the edges and trying to clean the lens made it worse! I had messaged Polar Pro about this and they offered an exchange, but I was able to test a different set from a retail store and they had the same problem so I didn't initiate a return. I looked at a recent set of filters and they still have the same problem. It's unfortunate, because the colors that these lenses bring out are unmatched. They will give you the best image. Just be very careful to not touch the lens in any way, and occasionally clean the threads of your drone because the little particles that rub off over time will start to stick to the glass. Even with extreme care, dust and other particles in the air will erode the coating in the center (see attached image), hence the need to replace them. I've tried cleaning them with lens pens, gentle dish soap, etc., and nothing restores them, which tells me that it is an issue with the coating itself getting worn away. It would be ideal if there was a clear glass cover that was part of the lens to protect the sensitive vivid coating. The filter itself is already very light weight and has given me no issues with my gimbal.

Other reviewers have mentioned the same problem. They look like well made filters and they fit my Phantom 4 nicely. The problem was that one of the filters in the set has fungus, or manufacturing mess, all over it and is unusable. I have contacted the company to request a replacement and hopefully they will respond soon as I needed them for a shoot this weekend and now will not have the full set to use. The polarization effect does not seem to be extremely strong, but only slightly noticeable. It should definitely help the image quality, however, and I like have the 3 levels of ND available. These screw on, replacing the factory UV filter. I also have the press-on ND filters from Polar Pro that are universal for the P3 & P4, but I do not like how tight they are when pressed on. It takes a lot of force to remove them and I'm concerned about damaging the gimbal in the process. These screw-on filters should be much better, if they replace the defective unit.update 11/9/2016I emailed Polar Pro about the defective filter and they were prompt to reply and send a replacement. So, although initial quality control may be hit or miss, they do stand by the product and now I have a complete set of nice filters. So, I've updated my review to 4 stars.

UPDATE: I used these at sunset in Hawaii and the color looks great. I got some good footage, but noticed some bouncing in the camera during certain modes of flight that I haven't seen before (I've flown it in some pretty stiff winds before and never noticed the bouncing/vibration). I'm wondering if the extra weight has something to do with that. I didn't use a scale to weigh the filters, but it's obvious they're heavier than the one that comes on the P4 camera. I'll have to use them a bit more to see if that continues and if it is in fact the weight.Original review: When these were delivered, one of them had an interesting defect. I'm not sure what it was (if anyone knows, feel free to fill me in) but I called and got a replacement. I haven't had the opportunity to use them on my P4, so I can't fully review them yet, but will update later. The weird part is I pulled out the old one (defective) and noticed something very interesting. I'm attaching pics of the way it looked when I received it and another few pics of what it looked like today. Any ideas? Manufacturer defect? Or filter bacteria?? ;)

Finally my friend from US has come to visit me in Dubai and he brought with him my Amazon order, which is ‘PolarPro DJI Phantom 4 Filters-Cinema Series®-VIVID Collection (3-Pack)’. I was very excited and the moment I had in my hands, I decided to try it on my new DJI Phantom 4. When I opened the PolarPro VIVID Collection pack I thought to give a first look and feel it built-in quality, everything seemed to be perfect but then something really disappointed me. The ND16-PL filler had some sort of defects inside the filter on the glass coating (have a look at the pictures attached). I guess it is a manufacture defect while processing of the tint coating. I believe it didn’t pass Quality Check prior shipment and I wouldn’t expect the same from PolarPro. The filter pack is not cheap and it has to be well inspected/certified by the seller before shipment. Plus, the glue which used to hold the glass is not strong enough and the glass can be detached by been slightly pushed towards. Attention to be given by the people who is planning to purchase the same. Very upset.

These filters are great. Extremely well made and the optics are clear and well coated. The coating is even and the photo quality is perfect. the thread on nicely and smoothly. I have used other filters that make my skin crawl screwing them on where the drag on the threads but the go on easily and just a nice smooth as the original DJI UV filter. The CP is great over water and the ND filters are perfect for partly sunny days. Will be buying the higher ND values for brighter days. If you want clear photos, great build quality, and filters that will last, go with PolarPro. I did and will not be looking at any other from now on. A great balance between cost and quality.

Filters are great, but they came with smudges. Not a big deal, just not going to give 5 stars. Also the bags they come in are annoying and flimsy. Would prefer that they came in something hard, like the cases that snake river nd filters come in. They do make hard cases you can buy, but that's extra money. They should already come in hard cases for how expensive they are. That said, the filters themselves are great. No complaints there.

Polarpro è sinonimo di qualità ottica, non c'è altro da dire.Ho approfittato di una promozione per prendere questi filtri anche se sono nati per Phantom 4 mentre io ho un Phantom 3 Advanced.Avevo fatto lunghe e controverse ricerche su web e forum, ma alla fine non ero certo che fossero davvero compatibili. Non c'era altro da fare che provarli.E fortunatamente filettatura e dimensioni sono compatibili al 100%Un ottimo acquisto

No noto dominantes y esto contento con ellos. Me fastidia que sean un poquito más largos y no valga el protector de gimball original. He tenido que pilar el de polar pro, para no tener que quitarlos al recoger el Phantom. Al polarizador no termino de pillarle el punto. Tienes que ajustar la posición correcta en tierra, ya que en el aire no tienes acceso al filtro.

Funktionieren tun die Filter natürlich tadellos, warum sie aber derart teuer sein müssen, erschließt sich mir nicht. Die weitaus günstigeren der Konkurrenz konnte ich leider nicht bekommen (nach längerer Wartezeit nicht lieferbar), daher blieb mir nichts anderes übrig, als diese zu kaufen. Doch zurück bleibt irgendwie der Eindruck, über den Tisch gezogen worden zu sein.
