This might be the best home improvement project I did since covid started!
I love the finished product so much!I assembled it all by myself in about four hours AFTER I spent about 8 hours over two nights attaching the stupid brackets to the louvers. Like other reviewers I am scratching my head as to why this wasn't done at the factory since all the other pieces are pre-assembled down to the nuts and bolts.Otherwise assembly was intuitive and easy to follow, if you have any diy or furniture experience of any kind. I didn't watch the video, just read the directions several times in advance of starting and then went through it step by step.Other than the brackets, it was easy for one person and I'm 5'4" 130lbs female. I have a great Dane so I'm strong but by no means a superhero. If you're on the fence, DO IT! It is not bad as long as you know in advance you have to attach 48 brackets to 24 louvers and it is a tedious process even with an impact driver (make sure you have one before you start!).I am in LOVE with the end result and, more importantly, so is my pup! It seems very sturdy. When the bugs started to get bad towards the middle of July I put up screens. I used the gutter system (which is genius and WORKS!) as other reviewers had suggested to put up curtains and the screens with hooks. It keeps the rain out and I know we'll love being able to open the louvers in winter and spring to get some sun. For now the shade is perfect and it has quickly become my favorite "room" in the house!I initially had a snaffu with the shipping carrier and they couldn't figure out when or if they were coming, but Sorara was more than amenable and used me a refund right away. I ended up ordering this from them on another site (they used a different carrier), but I love it so much I wanted to review it here also. Definitely worth it!

High quality pergola!
10x20 model - I did a lot of research before purchasing. This one is carried by the big C member big box store. Compared to others, this is better with hidden strut connections. It took me a full day to put together - I only needed help lifting up and moving the 2 20 ft sides into place but otherwise I was able to put it together by myself. It was shipped and delivered within days (to NY) of ordering. It came in 5 long boxes on a triple pallet. The delivery people called day before and morning of - no issues. They must leave the pallet though. I considered ordering the screens but it provides enough shade so I don’t think I’ll need them for the 20 ft model. Someone mentioned that you should consider how the louvre as positioned in relation the South/Sun during summer with the best angle to counter afternoon Sun - I’d second that. It provides a complete cover from rain when fully closed, too. Great purchase! I think it is very durable and have no concerns with wind and snow since we had a different brand before at our last home and this is better quality.

As advertised!
I purchased the 10x13 pergola. It arrived in 3 heavy boxes. All parts were accounted for and in perfect condition; there were no dents or scratches. The assembly was very straightforward and relatively easy. While there were a few tedious steps, it wasn’t difficult at all. Just take your time and follow the pictures as shown.I love the final product! It is exactly what I was looking for. I anchored the pergola to my wood deck from underneath with nuts/bolts. It’s very sturdy. It has rained a few times since I installed the pergola and the gutter system works as advertised! The only negative thing I can say about it is that because it’s taller (8’2”) than the other pergolas I looked it, it allows more sun to come in the side during late afternoons. However, I fixed this by installing some outdoor curtains on that one side.As of now, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the pergola! I just hope it holds up well over the winter and in years to come…..TBD

Superb Results in a Challenging Setting
Because of limitations given our back yard and patio dimensions, we set 2 posts at ground height (not patio height) and 4 posts on the patio, which required the latter posts to be about 4 inches shorter. This allowed the one 20' wall of the pergola to be under the roof overhang of the house. (see photos) No problem, we just did careful measurements and double checked. (Your crew was a youngish contractor and his helper, also your author, who is a retired contractor.)These shorter walls had pull-down screens, which don't care how tall their posts are. Screens reviewed elsewhere. The full-length-post wall has the 4 bypass doors, which work beautifully and look great. Reviews elsewhere.A further complication was the patio material, which is neither concrete (pavers) nor wood deck. It is cement bricks, which will not retain their integrity using a typical hard-surface fastener. So we took out bricks in the region of the 4 shorter posts and poured footings there. We replaced the bricks and drilled clearance holes for the fasteners which found a forever home in the concrete below. This all sounds tedious, and it was. No glitzy YT video of 6 happy GenZers chomping down KFC and a few nut-brown ales between lifting events. Mostly it was just 2 of us with an occasional 3rd.The structure is solid. We have not experienced rain or wind events yet but I am completely confident the pergola will be unaffected. We have disciplined ourselves to keep the roof vanes open at night. Easy.Packaging was impervious to travel insults. The quality of the parts: impeccable. The instructions never left us in the dark, puzzling over which artist from IKEA jumped ship to a better gig.One other thing for which I am thankful: We ordered the 10 x 20. The 10 x 10 would have covered our table for 6, but not left any room for other reclining and doze-offable seating.A surprise benefit of the vanes off the Mirador "Bioclimatic" Pergola is that is more than an Open or Close device. You can tilt the vanes just so and get gradients of sun and shade. Pretty nifty. In all, highly recommended: The 10 x 20, bypass doors, and screens.Ohhhhh one more thing. The geniuses at Rust-Oleum have placed on the shelf, at a store near you, aerosol cans of Semi-Gloss Anodized Bronze, #376911. Soooo close to the Mirador color.
