No its a single effect per block the blocks are fx/comp, ds/od, amp, cab, ns, eq, mod, delay, and reverb only one of each at a time but in what ever order you want to put them in.

Their new software update does include synth sounds.

Yes you can assign FX to buttons. I.e. when you want to push a button and enable/disable delay or reverb, amp, pedals,.. etc. I hope i answered your question

I'd say the amp sounds specificly the high gain ones are a step up for sure and the menu is slightly tedious on this unit as well not like deal breakingly so for me but not perfect either. The effects on the other hand are probably better on the digitech if you use anything outside of a little reverb delay and chorus which I use very sparingly and the ones in the ge 200 are fine for that and the whammy effect in the digitech will be better cause the one in the ge 200 is so bad it shouldn't have even been Included. Now as far as how it sounds in front of an amp I couldn't tell you I own a few amps but have never tried this in front of the clean channel cause to me that just isnt what it's for not saying ya can't or anything but it's more for using the effects return and bypassing the amps pre amp entirely as the pre amp sims and power amp and cab emulation/ir loading is really where the ge 200 shines not so much in the effects area works great inot an effects return or into a power amp and cab which is mainly how I use it and I have no complaints about it there. Hopefully that help's if you are after better amp and cab sims this thing will be great for you if you are looking for great effects this probably isn't the thing for you.
