Simpson Strong-Tie LUS ZMAX Galvanized Face-Mount Joist Hanger for 2x8 (Pack of 50)

I’ve been building things for over 50-years and this is the first time I’ve purchased joist hangers that can individually wrapped and sealed in a plastic bag. They even look hand wrapped & taped before they went in the bag and after all that care I feel bad by ripping it open and nailing it to a header. I only use Simpson hangers and have never found a problem with their products so they get 5-stars. A plus to these is you can also use them for a 2x10… depending on your span. Not much you can say about a 16 joist hangers except that these have a starter tab to hold them in place until you start nailing. There’s a lot of stress on these so be sure to use joist hanger nails and not common nails for the face nailing… common are good for the angle nail into the joist.

Product description measurements are wrong.It measures 1.75 x 6.6 inches. The product description says 3.6 x 2 x 6.6 inches.I realize now that it is in reference of a 2x8 piece of wood which measures 1 1/2 x 7 1/4My house has actual 2 inch wide beams (old house) so I needed truly 2 inch wide joists. This is not what you want.Product itself seemed good.
