Irish Motorcycle Gangs?
I admit it. I'm hooked on Sons Of Anarchy. Owning and riding a Harley probably has a lot to do with it. However the cast is the main reason I like it and the story of course. This season deals with the club going to Ireland. I wont' spoil it by getting into detail. I was a bit tickled by the way the Harley's looked in Ireland. The Samcro guys had to wear actual helmets instead of the beanies you see lots of folks riding with in the States. I guess the Irish take more interest in head injuries than Americans do.The story has it's usual amounts of surprises in it which makes it irresistable to me. June Stahl the underhanded, ATF agent gets what's coming to her towards the end in a sort of surprise at least to me. Opie and Jacks are teamed up again as in previous episodes, Kickin ass and takin names. This season three of the Sons, is great, bet your life on it. It's way different in most aspects but great none-the-less. Ireland has some terrific scenery to see and some new people to meet, some good and beautiful, some no damn good. The club gets a readjustment in their ideas about the Irish. Some good and lots bad.If you believe in Karma then you'll love this season, it's full of it. I've found most people either love or have no opinion of Sons. Usually the ones that have no opinion are the people I don't know. Most of my friends love it. Maybe that's because lots of us ride Harleys? Nah, it just a damn good show, period, believe it. You won't be disappointed with this season either. I'm looking forward to owning season 4! Buy Season 3 you won't regret it!Dave Proffitt

This Show does not disappoint.
This show has been overshadowed by other great dramatic shows of its time like Breaking Bad, but it is just as intense and well written as its peers. I had never seen an episode before DVD release, as I missed the boat. But last year I got this for my GF who never caught anything past the fist few seasons with regularity de to work. So, I bought each season as we needed. Currently we are on Season 3, and the show has not lost any steam. In fact this show proves the modern serial is back in full force. (This is opposed to episodic shows like most Sit-Coms and older dramas X-files or Battlestar where episodes do not necessarily build or draw on all prior episodes for context). Everything in this show fits tightly together with suspense and mysteries as to what might happen next. If I can say one thing definitive about this show is that it is unpredictable in a good way. While you might know the overall story arch, the details can surprise. Every show is full of both saddening drama and laugh out loud moments. The characters are 3 dimensional and compelling — some you love, some you are disgusted by, and some you just feel bad for. The acting and writing in this show is commendable. I highly recommend watching this series for fans of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and other gritty, action dramas. If you have a problem with occasional nudity, language and adult situations, then this show is not for you. Other adults should be highly entertained.

Hooked from Season One
I got into this show late, so I was able to watch Seasons 1, 2, 3 in a marathon style viewing. On one hand I'm glad that I got to overdose on so many episodes at once. On the other hand, I can't believe I missed out on this amazing show for as long as I did.Since anyone can find many critics reviews, fan sites, and twitter accounts related to this show, I will try to keep my review short and sweet: I made my cousin, my housemate, and my bestie watch this entire series - all at separate times. Thus I have watched the entire series approximately 4 times (as I watched with each of them and once on my own). I have found new layers to the story with every viewing. Each one of them thanked me for introducing them to this show & each one sends me ridiculous amounts of text messages on Tuesday nights when the show is playing live - of course we only reply during commercials because it is impossible to tear your eyes away from the screen when the show is airing.Overall - this is the first TV show that I actually bought all of the DVD set for each season. This would be the first entertainment item that would accompany me to a deserted island. Although I buy the Amazon Season Pass now with my Roku box, I will still buy the DVDs upon their release just for the extras on the discs. Yes, this show is worth paying for it twice!

Fantastic show, but this review is about how great Amazon is!
This review is not just about SOA, my favorite show on tv, but also about Amazon's customer service. I actually purchased this some years ago with Season 3 had first come out on blu-ray. I had somehow missed the season on TV (life gets in the way sometimes), and I was about to go on a long plane ride. I bought this then, expecting I could just download it on to my ipad and watch on the plane. Well, a few years ago, Amazon didn't have the proper software to support downloading onto an ipad, you had to instant stream purchases via the internet. This completely defeated the purpose of what I needed. Here's why I am rating Amazon. As soon as I called customer service about this, I acknowledged my mistake in not reading the fine print, but they promptly refunded my money and took the purchase off my account. No trouble, no hoops. Just like that. Of course, now they do support the ability to download tv shows onto your ipad for later viewing without internet access.I love this show, as I said, it is my favorite show on tv. I am not going to try to convice people to watch this show, I am sure there are plenty of other reviewers that wax poetic on the subject far better than I could. However, I did want to give Amazon some props!

Below par...
I was really hoping this show would improve as it went on, but it seems to have taken a step backwards with Season 3. The main storyline is all about the gang's trip to Ireland, and considering the nature of the trip and people they were dealing with, I was expecting some real tension and high drama. (Within reason...)Unfortunately, the programme makers seemed to have gone out of their way to let us down this time. The whole Irish thing is totally unconvincing. I think they just told the actors to put on any Irish accent they could manage, regardless of the region, and that's what they got. No two accents are the same, and I think some of them are pretending to be Leprechauns, just for a laugh. It's totally cringeworthy.I believe they actually went to Ireland to film some of the scenes, so I don't know why they went and spoiled it by making some of the outdoor scenes in California. I don't think Belfast has ever seen such a beautiful clear blue sky, or such loud crickets in the night.Their dealing with the border guards was a laughably poor scene, and like the whole adventure, it was just not convincing in the slightest. The only saving grace of this whole series were the female characters. They seem to be overtaking the men for storylines and character development...Note:This was watched on Amazon Prime Video; picture and sound quality both very good.

PRESSURES EVER MOUNTING, DITTO BODY COUNT
Another most powerful, violent season. Divisions between biker boss Clay and stepson Jax, though, are put to one side - they united in their quest to track down abducted baby Abel. Movingly rival gangs co-operate. All have their own code of conduct - snatching of a child crossing the line.Action thus moves to Ireland, where duplicity reigns - everybody encountered seemingly with hidden agendas....As before, strengths include fine scripts and impressive acting - Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal heading a great cast (which this time includes James Cosmo as a priest not to be trusted). Some may feel the baby abduction storyline does not really convince and the Irish connection suffers from some dodgy accents. Such reservations are minor compared with the riches, not least a great climax with awesome twists coming fast and furious.Interesting bonuses include the scriptwriters discussing their craft. (Apparently one character in Season 1 so impressed he was not killed off at its end as originally intended.)All is set now for Season 4, startling family secrets surely guaranteeing a return of Clay-Jax hostilities.Recommended.

excellent third season
Sutter continues to deliver a fine show. The club has is hands full in this season. Gemma is on the run, framed for murder. The mayans are on the move, Jacob Hale continues his scemes and the search for abel continues. The trail leads to Northern Ireland where Jax finds more than he bargained for. More of John Tellers past is revealed and this will affect the clubs future, and the club is caught up in an internal fight between ira factions. Betrayal is waiting around every corner and the sinister father Ashby has his own agenda involving jax and Abel. You need to have seen the first two seasons to understand whats going on so get them as soon as possible. You won't be disappointed.

Buy it, and continue the saga!
By season three, SoA has really established itself, and isn't working to introduce the characters and settings, but instead starts to really knuckle down into the myriad of broken relationships that defines the Sons of Anarchy - Redwood Original Motorcycle Club. It is perhaps almost *too* easy to make the obvious 'Shakespearean' references (Hamlet) with Step son Jax Teller and Club president Clay Morrow. But, if you don't mind the violence and gritty drama, you will enjoy the adventures of the club, including a trip to Northern Ireland, and a showdown with the IRA!

Biker bliss!
Violent, yes. Not as good as the other seasons, but we have to forgive the odd miss in most of this type of american drama as there always seems to be a lull as the writers re-group after early success. Still worth watching if only for the continuity so you can move on to the next season.
