I wanted to give taurine a try for my headaches. I had happened upon an article someone had posted stating he had success in treating his migraines with taurine. I eased into the dosage since I have blood pressure on the low end of normal. I am very pleased to say I have had success too! I haven't tried it for a migraine yet, just headaches. I take 2 of these which equals 1000 mg or 1 gm. The headache goes away. Its magical! I can maybe stop taking so much ibuprofen now. Yes! Plus it is good for many things to boost. My hands hurt less now too.Update: I woke up with what I could tell was a migraine forming so I took 2 taurine along with some cold brew coffee. 15 minutes later I could tell my head was not budging so I took 1 more. It did mostly go away with a little bit lingering on which always makes me wonder if it's coming back in full force soon. It did vanish though. I think it will be safe and more effective to take 2gm worth next migraine. Thank you Taurine!!

its kinda amazing how two days of juicing and taking amino acids just turns my energy level right around. I bought Thorne this time because after finding out about all of the bogus companies selling bogus vitamin...I don't want to chance it on the cheaper ones anymore.Thorne has very high standards and is quality checked by all of the companies who do that. I trust this company. And their prices are still reasonable. For anyone who has not addressed their imbalances in their neuro transmitters....do yourself a favor and start reading up on it. Taurine, l-glutamine and L-tyrosone are essential for me right now. We are so privileged to live in this amazing age of information and know as much as we do.That's why I like this company. They are certified and recertified and many doctors and nutritionists advise folks to use only this company. I like that kind of certainty when I know how much difference they make for me. I was using a much more expensive brand, but from everything I see this one is great. Could be that company used Thorne products and made their own label. All I know is I feel much better and the other company was so expensive I didn't feel good spending the money. This is just right.

Addendum to original review. I started taking this along with all AA before bed which really helped sleep. I had had rashes after a bout with what was thought to be Covid. This cleared the rashes and other skin issues. I’m not sure how people take Amino Acids during the day but I’m not a body builder - just trying to rebuild muscle slowly. I will reorder. The itch also disappeared after a few days. I take along with L Arginine and Ornithine. So my advice - take late and give it a week or two to see some benefits if you aren’t a body builder. I’ve also slowly lost a few pounds without going on a diet which I assume means my metabolism has been helped by these.Original teview: I bought this several weeks ago. I have been using LArganine and Ornithine for my blood pressure with amazing results. Decreased my bp from a range of 156/ 95 to 180/99 after my bp medicine Lisinopril suddenly stopped working alone - 6 month 19 illness. One of the lead Cardiologists at NYU Langone and several very thorough physicians in the ER and inpatient could not get it down and when released had me take several new prescriptions that didn’t work. I then tried herbals with limited success. I decided to try this duo Vitamin Shoppe brand and my bp went to 120/80 and after a few weeks to 115/75. So I decided to try this Taurine 500 mg. and was so exhausted I slept several hours and woke up feeling ill. I never nap so this was unusual. I didn’t even sleep during the day during my Covid experience that mainly hit my oxygen levels which went from 98 or 99 into the 50s but recovered. This went on for over a month. I tried opening a capsule and adding half to a liquid with similar results and added about 1/4 a 500mg tab to my nightly Arg and Ornithine with similar results - only after sleeping 2 hrs I was awake the rest of the night itching and feeling terrible. It has really good reviews so I have to assume I’m allergic. I can’t tell if Thorne’s Taurine is a synthetic. There appears to be a similar issue with people having anaphylaxis with synthetic taurine in energy drinks so maybe this is my problem. Won’t try this again but may see if a natural Taurine will work because it worked when allergists did some research. If this brand uses natural taurine then this just won’t work in any form. The itching actually lasted for hours until I took an antihistamine which just made me more exhausted but at least not scratching my skin.
