Nutcase - Patterned Street Bike Helmet for Adults

Let me start out by saying I hate helmets, have avoided wearing one for years. I now have to wear a helmet, so I did a lot of research on ATV helmets and all I could find were motocross full face which I detest. I chose this because it was light and a good fit, also very cool in hot weather even with the flat black finish. Also there seems to be some research indicating motocross helmets are designed for high speed impact and may actually transmit more shock to the brain when involved in a low speed atv accident. The only issue I have is the visor is not secured and I have already lost one.

The Nutcase helmet looks a bit goofy and childish given the fact that it has an alien head logo with "I Love My Brain" permanent affixed to the back of the helmet and "Nutcase" plastered on the front. The logo and wording is painted on the helmet under the top coat so that it can not be removed without taking the paint off of the helmet and exposing the clear plastic helmet. I would not recommend this helmet to anyone trying to look professional.

I got this helmet because I wanted one with some personality, and this brand has a ton of really cool options for adults. I got the bird pattern and I love nearly everything about this helmet. I love the design, it is super comfortable, true to size (I followed their sizing guide) and the magnetic clasp is super easy to use. The ONE thing that I really don't like is how the visor attaches (or more accurately DOESN'T attach) to the helmet. It simply slides into designated holes between the outer hard plastic and inner foam layers of the helmet. Doesn't snap or anything. This means it is easy to remove accidentally, or in some cases simply falls out. Today it happened during a ride, falling between my leg and pedal, then bouncing out into the road. Luckily I didn't run it over and I could stop and retrieve it without it (or me) being run over by a car. I'll be using some superglue to keep this in place, like at least one other reviewer. Still, this is a huge miss for an otherwise awesome helmet, at least there is an easy remedy.
