Does not run or bleed, nor leave residue on fingers, I love is product

Q: I’d be using this on my grey roots, will it weigh down my hair or help me where my messy curly style at just roots?

Yes. It will weigh it down and make it very greasy as well. I do not recommend this product because it also causes your edges/hair to look dirty..at least it did on me.

Q: Does this product contain dye? Do you have to wash the edges to remove product after use to prevent damage to your edges?

I noticed after applying product a few days later my edges were darker. So there could very well be some tinting or dye properties in it. There wasn’t any product “stuck” or glued on my edges. No damage at all.
