I needed a nuc box overnight and am pleased with this purchase. Wonderful nuc, made out of very sturdy & thick wood. It is well coated with wax to preserve the wood. It was easy to assemble (rubber ended mallet, hammer, and cross tip drill or screw driver) -all parts fit together well. The nails for the frames weren't the best/easiest to use so I used store bought 17 X 1'' wire nails instead, with much better results. Overall, I'm very impressed and would order from May Bee again.

This is a great product. I have several hives and have assembled most of them and none were as easy as this hive to assemble. Every piece was well built and fit snugly together. The sides are dovetailed making assemble easy and glue unnecessary. The screw holes were predrilled and the hardware (screws) is / are of high quality. The metal roof folds over the top enough to really protect the roof. Other hives that I have purchased only come over the top about a half inch, not providing adequate protection. The wax finish is thick and was attracting bees as I was assembling the hive. It is also the most attractive hive I have. The nails are of good quality too; but I always use a staple gun to assemble the frames. This hive may have been a little more expensive but clearly it will last for decades. Great value. I wish all my hives were as nice as this one😊

Was inexpensive for what features it came with, was pleasantly surprised. Out of all the hives I have bought and assembled, this one went together with no issues in fitting and the frames didnt bow or bend the inserts which absolutely will come back to bite you in the ass later if you install them like that. Everything was perfect, even came w nails and screws and the beeswax coating was thick enough on the inserts! This is a real winner. I'm in awe, considering how many times I've had to sand or glue wood back together that split. Quality, quality, quality. Do take my word for it, this is legit good.

I have been extremely satisfied with the MayBee boxes I have ordered thus far. The components are all of the highest quality, fit together nicely, and appear well made. I have purchased 4 of the nucs, as well as a couple standard bee boxes.

I usually don't write product reviews for beehives but I felt like I needed to for this one. The wax coat is HEAVY!! Even on the frames. I was so pleased that when I needed another hive I decided to go with this brand.It went together well and it squared up immediately so no fudging to be done. A very pleasant experience.

These hives are completely wax coated, including the bottom board, wooden parts of the metal topped telescoping cover, inner cover, and even the entrance reducer. The kits come with screws for the hive body instead of nails, the joints are dovetail, and fit together snugly with the help of a rubber mallet, and the nature of the joinery keeps the corners square without the use of an actual square tool (speed square triangle). They don’t need to be painted, but spray paint sticks well. The frame kits come with nails and fit together well and the black plastic foundation is beeswax coated and fragrant. The walls of the hive body are slightly thicker than the standard 3/4 inch but not so much as to prevent standard 5 frame commercial from fitting well on top. I will certainly buy more of these. Probably right now!!

I bought mine at a discounted price. There was a cracked piece of wood, but nothing to prevent proper assembly and usage. I feel like I got a good bargain.
