The thread is only to break up your outline.
I’ve read the reviews on this, and now that I’ve used this material to construct a couple suits. The thread works fine. There are some caveats though:1) You have to pay attention to the colors of the area you are operating in to match them.2) Probably the most important, the yarn (string) is ONLY to break up your outline. That’s all. The majority of your suit is made of natural foliage woven into it along with the thread.An actual ghillie suit is used this way. It’s not supposed to be a ball of yarn for you to put on and disappear. That’s the idea for people who watch too many movies and YouTube warriors.This is why professionals make their own suits and don’t use the manufactured ones you see online. This material works fine. It will never be as good as making your own, but if you’re going to use something someone else made, then you may want to take the above information into account.

Not bad
It dosent shed like jute but still very fibrous which seems great for dry climates because it does absorb water. It may not be the best product for crawling across a field unseen to snipe a VC general but for my LARP activities it will do just fine

Gets Caught on the Natures
I made my own ghillie with a variety of these threads. Depending on the task, will determine if this works well for you or not. I love the color variation and how over time, the strings mesh together to make a more textured camouflage. It's also quiet. The one downfall: it gets caught on everything. I appreciate how some debris gets caught in it and creates a more natural look for the terrain I'm in, but I found myself ripping pine cones and branches off me constantly...getting ghillie caught on branches while trying to move quietly is the worst. My solution? fleece strips (ripped up from Goodwill stores and tied on)
