LIANYU 68-Piece Silverware Set with Serving Pieces Service for 12 30-Piece Set Silver

Had this set for about 3 weeks now. Overall a great value for the money. The low 3 star rating comes from a problem we had this morning. As my wife was cutting a banana this morning with the “butter knife” from this set it slipped right through the banana and into the end of her finger, slicing off the end of her finger. I am not joking, I drove her to the hospital, to have it taken care of. This caught me off guard, my five year old has handled these knives and I did not give it a second thought, wake up call. These “butter knifes” should come with a label. Something like “hey kid be carful, these knives are sharp”. Hopefully the pinto bean piece of finger that was severed off the wife’s finger will grow back. But for now at least I know not to let kids handle them. Update A representative from this company has reached out to me in a sincere email. They offered to refund our money and even keep the set but more importantly they said that they were going to add some sort of advisement about how sharp these knives are. No one else should mistakenly have kids handling these and or be unaware of how sharp these are. And knowing is half the battle. Here is the email I received. “ Thanks for your purchase of LIANYU 30-Piece Silverware Set. I’m really sorry for the knife have cut your wife finger. Would you accept that we fully refund your order without return this set as our compensation to this accident issue? I sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience caused to you. And thanks for your feedback and suggestion. We will send our customers some warming tips about the knife while daily use. And we will immediately suggest our supplier to come with a label to remind our customers should be careful when using these knives. Sorry again for the accident issue. Could you please give us a chance to be better? Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Melinda “

They are a nice weight not too heavy but weigh enough so you know you’re not going to bend them. The handle is comfortable to hold. If I needed more I’d buy them again, and definitely recommend them to anyone looking

My biggest pet peeve with silverware is when it bends, like digging a spoon into some hard ice cream. This set is extremely durable. The size of the utensils feels good. If anything, the knives feel a little *too* heavy, but I won't complain. However, something I noticed right out of the box is many of the edges are not rounded off. Some of the spoons have a slight burr that you don't notice when you're eating but you can feel with your finger. I don't see it being an issue and the burr will wear itself down overtime. Just something to be aware of.

I liked these so much that I bought them again to have extras for the holidays instead of using plastic cutlery. Then, I purchased 3 sets as housewarming gifts last year. And gave a set to my mom for Christmas. I’ve gotten so many compliments. These still have their sparkle a year later. The smaller sizes are perfect for little children (not toddlers). But ages 4 and up. We use this set for everything. Wash well in dishwasher.

GREAT price. Expensive silver has a 'balance' to them. These don't but not bad at all. If the silverware is really cheap there is no balance and thin. This is not bad on balance and not thin. Hard to describe but they look nice and feel nice.
