I want to start by saying that the ballast comes with a 2 year warranty and that the bulbs come with a 1 year warranty...and that the customer service is exemplary.I also own the closest competing 1000 watt Virtual Sun package, sold here on Amazon, and will compare it to that.Pros:1) Cost. This is the lowest price point on a 1k setup.2) Value. You're getting equipment that should be more expensive.3) Customer service. Top notch. Could not ask for more. Have an issue, and they will fix it. Fast.4) Warranty. 2 years on the ballast. 1 year on the bulbs.5) Ballast. Digital, and has a solid build quality. Fan cooled. Puts off less heat than the 2 times larger Virtual Sun ballast.6) Bulbs. I expected these to be garbage. They're actually very well built and hit the 140,000 lumens advertized. Among the best values on bulbs, period. These or Apollo, and the warranty/customer service makes that a no brainer. Brighter than the Virtual Sun bulbs, which is 110,000 lumens on the HPS. Don't waste money on expensive bulbs. Use quality mid grade bulbs and replace them every grow or two.7) Hood's light footprint. Hood is on the small side, but don't let that scare you. Larger area of coverage than the larger Vitual Sun Hood.Cons:1) Hood. Average build quality. Essentially a batwing in a hood. Not tempered glass. Glass is difficult to remove while light is hanging. Not 100% sealed. It doesn't leak horribly but there are some air gaps. All that said, it's very reflective, and has a great light footprint as mentioned. It may not look as "nice" as the Virtual Sun hood, but it does a better job.2) Hangers. They are leagues better than the cheap wingnut yo-yo's, but not as solid as regular rachet hangers...and the worst feature is that you must re-lock the rachet after raising or lowering the light, or it will zip down. Not a good design.That's it. I have had no issues with my Virtual Sun unit, but this is not only a better value, it's a better setup...and you just can't find a deal like this anywhere.I can't comment on the longevity of this kit as I just purchased it...but there is a warranty to stand behind it in any case.

Ok. So at first glance this product looked like the real deal.... and then. First light cycle and it tripped the breaker. So this seems impossible as I just had a 20 amp breaker installed that was to be dedicated to two of these. Should not be a problem. Or so you would think. It continued to trip every time it tried to cycle on. I troubleshot the life out of this thing and could not get it to function on any outlet in my home. I tested the same breakers with a higher quality product drawing more power and they ran fine. So I reached out to Ipower and they urged me to send in the ballast at a cost to me of $30+ to ship. After receiving it they tell me they’ve tested it and it’s fine. It was send it back to me. Only they sent me a new one I’m guessing by mistake according to the emails I received. Hooked everything up and same thing. Tripped the breaker. I managed to get the unit to run properly with no bulb. No matter what bulb I added the the problem would occur. All bulbs were brand new in packaging. So I reached back out and told them I was suspicious of an electrical issue with the socket. They proceed to tell me to get an electrician to check my home. You have got to be kidding me. With the extensive amount of data I presented to them, they were obviously in denial. How can you offer a warranty to your customers and tell the to deal with it when you need support. They had no interest in helping me. Only in getting off the hook. Ridiculous. Thank goodness Amazon did not allow me to be a victim of IPowers’ neglect and bad business. They allowed me to return the product to them after getting all of the details. It was very apparent Ipowers’ product had failed and the support team was passing the buck. Please save yourself the trouble and stay away from ipower products. When you are spending a significant amount of money on a product, you need to be able to count on the manufacturer to provide support or honor their warranty. IPower does not fall into either category. This product was merely a waste of my time and money. Don’t be the next victim.

We have been using two of these kits in an indoor garden and the results have been fantastic! Everything you need to get started is included in the kit (1 HPS light, 1 MH light, hood, ballast, hangers and instructions). We purchased two kits and they came with different ballasts and hangers so I assume the makers source their parts from different suppliers. This wasn't an issue for me but keep it in mind if you are expecting two kits to have the exact same hardware.Install was pretty simple and the bulbs seem to be high quality. The hangers work well and you can adjust the lights up or down with minimal effort. The hood is small but spreads the light pretty evenly in my opinion. We put two of them in a 4'x8' tent and they cover about 85% of the tent footprint with enough bright light for our purposes. There are built in holes on both end of the hood to attach ducting and carry the heat away from the light. I highly recommend doing this as it will keep your lights operating properly and the temperatures in your garden down.Overall, for the price this is an excellent kit considering you can buy a single light that costs this much! We have had two of them in continuous operation for the last two years and have not had a single problem. I would highly recommend checking this kit out!

Great deal but light bulb 💡 looked used.

Great light so far been in a month no problems although the veg bulb had a yellow spot and a little metal ball in it seems to work fine still getting mad growth plants grew to a foot in 3 weeks from clone

I, received my grow kit and everything was fine, nothing broken. I installed reflector kit, air line and fan to reflector connections turned on power everything worked fine, for about 2 hours then, all lights in grow room turned off, the ballast shorted and turned off circuit breaker for ballast ,I turned circuit breaker on again, then turned ballast on again and it shorted my circuit breaker again. I, felt ballast case and it was very hot for running 2 hours. I, then installed one of my 1000 watt. ballast and it worked fine and is still working. The only thing I need replaced in the order is the ballast, I, installed the rest of the kit and it works fine with my ballast. Can you send me new ballast so I don't have to take down all my work installing reflector and air lines, also shipping will be cheaper, I, also sent email to register warranty and informed them of the problem. thank you.

Great product for the price

Prcing was great . works as it should so far.No broken bulbs.Will see long term but so far so goodThree months later no issues at all works perfect . i will buy another soon for sure.
