Air Vent Magentic Mount
Update -So after using these for some time, I'm not as satisfied as my original impression. The one in my 05 Wrangler has slipped off of the vent a few times. One time while I was pulling the phone off, and another time when I hit a pretty decent bump. It's not often, but it does happen - and I don't want my expensive smart phone to go flying across my vehicle - ever! For my Flex, it has stayed in place just fine. The vents are naturally angled "back" so the only time it has come off the vent is when you pull your phone directly off the mount. If you pull the phone indirectly, meaning, pull the phone down and away, this is never a problem. However, the viewing angle in my Flex is still undesirable, as the steering wheel is partially in the way. Also, having the heat on is definitely an issue. I put my phone up there a couple of times when it was cold outside - and the heat from the vent definitely made my phone hot. So when you're running the heat you'll want to find another place to put your phone - which kind of defeats the purpose in having something like this. Overall they're not bad for the price, and depending on the vent configuration of your vehicle these may work perfect for you, however, I'll be looking for something else.Original Review -Arrived quicker than expected! Wasn't quite sure how this was going to work out, but I'm glad to report that these are pretty terrific. I don't particularly like to cover up my vents with my phone, especially if I'm running the heat. Will have to think about that some more as the winters pass by. A family member has a magnetic one, and the mounting bracket goes into your CD slot. I thought that was cool, but then my phone would cover up other buttons that I frequently use, so I opted for the vent style instead. Installation was simple; slide over vent, put magnet in case or on back of phone, and touch together. Not rocket science. But finding the right spot on my vent to mount the bracket took a couple of tries. In my 05 Wrangler, I had to put it on the very bottom of the vent, otherwise the weight of the phone would swivel the vent downwards, and then the phone would be at a weird viewing angle. Putting the mount at the bottom of the vent create a wedge between the vent and the frame, and when adding the weight of the phone it prevented the vent from swiveling. Attaching my phone horizontally also made it so that my radio buttons were not obscured by my phone. In my 2011 Flex, the vent doesn't swivel, so I didn't have this issue, but the vent is closer to the steering wheel than my Jeep. While not as good of a view as my Jeep, it still works great to get my phone up at a better viewing angle so I can see navigation. As far as actual use, I put the strengths of the magnets to the test in my Jeep. I purposely hit some speed bumps harder than I normally would, steered towards pot holes, and overall just tried to make it fall off - and not once did it. It does jiggle around a bit when you do things like that, but it didn't even slip at all. By the way, my phones have a slim case/cover on them. So the magnet is attached to the phone, and then the case over the phone. So it's not even a direct contact from the mount to the phone. Now if you use something like a Rhino case, or other super thick cases, I don't think this would work at all. I tested the magents direct, and then in my case, and there is a noticeable difference in the strength of attachment, but it doesn't seem to affect the products ability to do what it's advertised to do.Overall I'm happy with the purchase, I'm not obscuring my view with something on the windshield, and the phone stays attached even with a purposeful hard road test - though I doubt this would work if I went off roading in my Jeep. If I could change one thing about the product, it would be nice if the mount swiveled so you could optimize your viewing angle - though a swivel might compromise actually keeping the phone in a desired place.

I own several, Great gadget, keeps phone in sight with easy access. You wont be dissapointed.
I highly recommend this mag mount for your phone. I use a Spigen Slim Armor case iPhone 6 Case, Spigen® [Slim Armor] AIR CUSHION [Gunmetal] Slim Fit Dual Layer Protective Case Advanced Shock Absorption Protection for iPhone 6 (2014) - Gunmetal (SGP10959) on my iPhone 6 and the case fits over the metal plate just fine, no bulge etc... This Mag mount is strong enough to hold it without slipping. It never falls off but is easy to remove. I bought one of these a year ago and loved it. I travel for work and this would stay in my carryon without a problem through security. I would use it in my rental cars so I could follow maps and not have to search for a good place to keep my phone in an unfamiliar car. Works on vertical and horizontal vents. I left it in the rental car one day and bought a replacement on Amazon at a slightly lower price from a different vendor. There are many choices and I thought these would all work the same. NOT TRUE, on fits one magnet was too weak and dropped the phone all the time, on second try the next one slipped from the vent. I went back to TechMatte and have been pleased. No issues with GPS, reception on phone or anything else for that matter. I spend 50 hours a month on the phone and would not accept any loss of performance. Now I have a TechMatte MagGrip in each car and bought a pack of two to give to coworkers. Great gadget, keeps phone in sight with easy access. You wont be disappointed. I have no relationship with the vendor but took the time to write this because I appreciate a good product. If this helps please press the "review helpful" link below.Updated 4-15-2018 - I give these away to other road warriors. Reordered more recently. At 2 for $9.99 it is a great small gift that someone will use again and again.

Does what it says, but the magnet could probably be a little stronger
Short story - pretty good quality, fantastic customer service. Great alternative to dash, windshield, or CD slot mounts for vehicles that don't work well with them (my Charger, for instance), but maybe not as strong as I'd like it to be. It works, it just doesn't FEEL all that secure. I'm sure an accident or a decent-sized western NY pothole might knock it off, but I'm glad I bought these, and I'll be using them.My setup: 2013 Dodge Charger, Pixel XL, Spigen Rugged Armor caseWorks well enough for me. Fits really well in my Charger's vent. Honestly, the best location for it in that car. Dash has too much texture to get a suction cup to stick to it, I hate having stuff hanging from the dash, and the CD slot is too close to the shifter for one of those mounts to work there. A while back I was using a decent mount and suctioning it over my speedometer :) (I usually have the digital one showing in the center of the dash cluster... don't worry, I NEED to know how fast I'm going... easy for that car to get away from you, haha) but that wasn't reliable enough. This, though, looks like it'll be great for daily driving. The pull of the magnet isn't SUPER strong, so I feel like a couple of big bumps, depending on how the phone is stuck to it, might dislodge it. I have a corner of it resting on part of the dash below it... but I could probably mount it a little higher.I did find that the small, round metal plate is probably only best if you can mount it somewhere near the center of the back of the phone or phone case. I just tossed it in between my phone and case, which positioned it near the bottom, and the phone kept trying to swivel and end up upside-down. If it's in the center, you won't have that center-of-gravity issue. I MIGHT be able to do that with my Pixel XL, but it's easier to just set the larger, rectangular plate inside my phone case.Side note: I got a follow-up from the seller checking to see that I was satisfied with my purchase, delivery, etc. At that time, I thought I had only received one of each of the metal plates, when I thought I was getting one of each for EACH magnetic mount... welp... I DID get 2 of each... I just had a little brain fart and didn't realize that they were all in there. Their customer support was very professional, courteous, and understanding. At first, they offered to send a spare, but I wanted to check first to make sure I didn't overlook them. When I found that I had what was promised, they thanked me again for my business and urged me to contact them again if I have any issues. Top notch customer service, if you ask me.

Pretty good
Worls well when the magnet patch is stuck to the outside of the phone. Not so well when you stick it on the inside of a you phone cover/case. But good overall
