Awesome for hard candy!
*BULK option for the single Gummy Mold purchase*I'm a crafty type person. I love it when I find a product I like, and I can learn to duplicate it at home with healthier, more natural ingredients. Two weeks ago I came down with my first case of Strep throat. It was agony... my Breezer cough drops did absolutely nothing for the pain, and I ended up having to go to the emergency room and get a Z-pack antibiotic to get rid of it once they tested it as positive for Strep.Then I started thinking... what if there was a way to treat it at home, without the use of the antibiotics that make me sick and throw my system into turmoil? These gummy bear molds were adorable, and seemed like just the right size for cough drops. I'd never made cough drops before, and it didn't say if they'd work for hard candy, but I was willing to try it. As a base, I used an herbal infusion with some herbs that were great for healing and sore throats. I tossed in some anti-bacterial/anti-viral essential oils, and some flavoring.To be safe, I sprayed Pam over the molds first, but I honestly don't think it was even necessary. These are so small that the mixture hardens quickly, I sat them in the refrigerator and in less than 15-20 minutes, they were ready to be unmolded. Normally our glass candy on baking sheets takes hours, so i was pleasantly surprised with these. Getting them out was as easy as flipping the mold over and pushing from the back, they popped right out.The dropper started getting plugged halfway through, which I imagine is due to the hard candy instead of a gelatin based mix, which I honestly expected. I didn't expect it to even work for half, but it definitely did. The best part? I thought it'd be ruined after all of that, so I tossed it in with the boiling water and Dawn dish soap I was using to remelt the waste from the sides of the pan to clean it, thinking that it'd never make it through that cleaning process.Lo and behold, it did, and is spotless and ready for the next go-round. These are amazing quality, capable of making even 300 degree hard candy with ease. I had gotten 2 as samples to review, and ended up buying these just on the first peek at them when they arrived in the mail, so I can definitely say these are worth the cost and are awesome for candy making.Please note, while I do review things for a discount occasionally, this was purchased at full price for personal use.
