The OrthoPro™ HyperEx™ Knee Orthosis combines comfort and stability in a hyperextension Swedish knee cage type brace. The unique addition of an air bladder with the hyperextension strap can reduce the force at the knee normally associated with other Recurvatum knee braces significantly improving patient comfort. The most effective and comfortable hyperextension knee brace on the market! Effective control of Genu Recurvatum (hyperextension). Adjustable air bladder incorporated behind hyperextension control strap. Permits knee flexion, aids in ambulation, and increases motion power of the quadriceps. The lightweight, thermoplastic construction of the brace conforms to the anatomy of the leg. Better control, comfort, and increased compliance. Easy to apply. Indications The OCSI OrthoPro HyperEx is designed for mild to moderate Genu Recurvatum due to plantar flexion contracture, quadriceps weakness, and hip extension weakness. Goals Control hyperextension. Improve ambulation. Decrease anti-inflammatory medications. Decrease pain symptoms. Improve joint function. Improve quality of life.

The inflatable bladder is a good idea but it doesn't stay attached to the brace
Product is as advertises and gets the job done. The inflatable bladder is a good idea but it doesn't stay attached to the brace. Really don't need it.

it's good for hyper extension knee
When you squat the back of the brace hits your calf, and you can't go all the way down, or the than that , it's good for hyper extension knee.

... after the order rep explained that it is more comfortable than the Swedish cage brace I have
I ordered this brace after the order rep explained that it is more comfortable than the Swedish cage brace I have. She said that it is more comfortable and I would like it more. It was better for several days then I realized that it rips my pantyhose (daily) I have not learned to adjust it quickly. It is very difficult to put on so adjusting it is not easy.

The old and the new, and the improvement in my gait.
I have an incomplete Spinal Cord Injury which has caused me to lose the last 10-15 degrees of extension in my right knee. I have $700 braces, $200 braces, but nothing helped but a Swedish Knee Cage. If you have worn one you know that they don't fit under clothing well and are clumsy. Then came the OrthoPro. I have used the one at the top of the picture long enough the Amazon doesn't have a record of my purchase; it is a medium with (as you can see) plastic clips that keep the straps in place. With fear that these would suddenly disappear I bought a second one about a year ago. (The one at the bottom of the picture.) The new one has metal O rings to thread the straps through. While this may last longer it is harder to adjust. I have no experience with the closure system shown in the picture. If your very close to the next size, get the larger; my PT adjust the Medium to fit perfectly. BTW I never use the bladder, I find it easier to adjust with the straps. With this brace my weak knee does not snap onto hyperextension causing me to lose my balance. For ~ $150 it is worth a try and much less expensive than most ROM (range of motion) braces. Easier to put on too
