After relocating from Phoenix AZ with my two cats back to my home state in rural Louisiana, we are experiencing fleas for the first time ever! I gave both my boys a good bathing and put the collars on. The fleas have been falling right off into a fine tooth comb. We are getting them under control. I even had to take the collar off my orange boy it was working so good. Irritation has been at a minimum. I have no doubt about the longevity of this product. My orange boy has sensitive skin but has not exhibited any symptoms of skin rash at all. Thanks Hertz Ultraguard

Great price. Used on the "community cat" who roams our neighborhood, and wanted it to be breakaway in case she gets herself into a tight spot. Nobody has taken it off, so I guess it is acceptable to all. I wanted it because sometimes the cat slips into our house when I'm getting a dish ready for her, and I didn't want to have to deal with fleas in our home. I've let strays in before (back when I was younger and had apartments) and ended up having to flea bomb the places, so I wasn't going to let that happen again. She seems to scratch at it, but I hope that means it's working. We haven't gotten fleas yet, and we've been more liberal about letting her in since the collar has been on, and the temps have dropped here in the midwest. Don't want the animal to freeze, but am still cautious about claiming her as ours, since we know she visits other "patrons" in the neighborhood. Glad to know it's got 7 month protection, since that will get us through to the summer. I didn't detect any smell to it, and it seems to be high quality with no side effects, since she has been back almost every day for her can of tuna. I'll write back and let you know if we get fleas in here, but so far as good. "A" quality product. Not intense packaging either. Very pleased.

Bought Hartz because I thought I was getting a good deal , 2 collars in a pack & 7 month protection for fleas. Packaged arrived Feb 26 and I put one on each of my cats, male and female. I made sure there was a finger space in between their neck as well so it wasn’t too tight. I noticed some discomfort in my male cat when I first put it on but I figured it was because he is not used to wearing collars. I was checking both of their necks periodically just to make sure they were okay but mostly just the top part of their neck ( HUGE MISTAKE 😩) Today is March 3rd , and as I was petting my male cat , I noticed he was missing some hair where the collar sits on the top of his neck. After further inspection, I realized my poor baby has what looks like a huge chemical burn on the lower part of his neck. I took the collar off immediately, cleaned the area and applied Ointment. I went to inspect my female cat as well and although there is irritation around the collar area , thankfully no burns. I believed the only reason she was spared was because she has so much hair then my male cat but even so, I removed the collar immediately. I feel like a terrible person putting my cats through this pain and experience. I understand that what they need to put in the collars has to be strong enough to kill fleas, but that also means it can burn their skin. Not worth the risk !!! Research alternatives!!!

I put these on my outside cats, they immediately stopped getting ticks. My inside cats somehow got fleas, probably from me bringing them in, and these Collars did absolutely nothing for the fleas. I did Flea drops, then a few days later put the Collars on. It's been 2 weeks and the fleas are worse than before. I'm on the hunt for something that will work.
