Powercom 1500VA Black Knight Series U.P.S. Backup System

I bought this unit to run a sump pump in an emergency as needed. It will not be solely dedicated to that however. I can move it to anything I need in an emergency. So far so good, but haven't needed to fully test it yet I'm glad to say, as we have had no outages. I'm impressed with the unit, as it is obviously well made at a great price & free shipping (it is heavy). It's a great relief to know I'm prepared, as this unit stores a lot of clean power!

Haven't actually had to use it yet, but it is more than adequate for my needs. I am using it for a high end gaming system.

I'm writing about a slightly different model than this BNT-1500AP.Mine is a slightly smaller and older unit, the BNT-1000AP. I've had it for 7 years, with absolutely no problems. It died recently, and so today I went to the Powercom website in the hopes of finding some repair info.I decided to write this as a way of recognizing the great support I received from Joe Skelley. He answered my email within 15 minutes, and each email that I wrote to him thereafter.He told me that, although there is a notice on the unit's case that there are "no user serviceable parts" inside, there are, indeed, 2 batteries inside that I could replace. He sent me the battery type and offered any help I might need in doing a DIY repair. And he told me that the repair would, most likely, get my unit working in mint condition again.Joe will probably never read this, but I just wanted to thank him and recognize Powercom as a company I would gladly do business with again.Cheers.PS.
