Vaneli's Solid Stainless Steel Tamper 53mm--2.09 inches (2 1/8")

this 53mm tamper fit my Breville BES870XL Barista Express which is listed at 54mm portafilter. I'm not certain that a typical 54mm tamper would fit so I got a slightly smaller one. In actual use, it looks like less than 0.5mm clearance all around inside the 54mm portafilter so I am happy with the size of this tamper.It's shiny and heavy - I'm guessing about 16oz. There's a few tiny nicks in the bottom edge. A few dull spots. Feels good. Too expensive but it is satisfying to use.LATER: FYI a tamper sized exactly 54mm WILL NOT FIT THE Breville BES870XL.

An excellent tamper but the 53mm size was too big for my 53mm portafilter. After reading other reviews on here, I thought that would be the correct size. I talked with Vaneli and they are exchanging this one for a 51mm rosewood tamper (they don't make this model in 51mm). Excellent customer service.

solid, no BS design...nice heft; does the work for you. doubles as brass knuckles if you have a kitchen intruder. ( ;

This tamper fits my Starbucks Barista's 53mm portofilter perfectly. Pretty much like it was machined specifically for my portofilter/basket. This tamper is heavier than my friend's Reg Barber (shockingly heavy actually), and in my opinion has nicer workmanship. For the price this HAS to be the best tamper on the market.

Everything I wanted, more than I hoped for. Fits perfectly with our Starbucks Barista espresso machine.

This a great, solid tamper - weighty and easy on the hands. Can't imagine a better tamper.
