Great resource!
This book is my go-to graduation gift for high school kids. I purchase several copies each year for gifts. It's well-written, and covers just about any situation you can think of! It's an easy-to-read format, you could pick it up and just scan through a few bites or sections, or you could sit down and read it front to back. I recommend it to anyone headed to freshman year at college. The author has a great conversational tone, and gives great advice that young adults might find more tolerable, coming from someone who is not their "parent." Good buy.

Great gift for a graduating High School senior
25. That's how many of this title I've purchased so far. Years ago, I gave this as gift to a young friend heading to college. In his thank you note, a few months after he settled into his dorm, he mentioned how useful this book was to him. "A lot of great advice" were his exact words. Last year, working in a high school, I wanted to give some seniors a token of thanks, to tell them I enjoyed working with them. I chose this book to give as that gift. When your relationship is strictly "school", it would be tough to find individual gifts, this book helped solve that problem. I'll be back next year for another dozen copies.Edit - back for more copies. A student of mine returned to say hello, and told me her older sibling borrowed her copy, and said "I wish I read this before I went off to school." This just reinforces I made the right choice for my go-to gift for seniors.

Truly great messaging that every background can appreciate
Got this for my niece who was raised Southern Baptist and is off to a large university. I'm her lesbian aunt from a big city who wants to make sure she's comfortable and ready. After reading quite a few sections, I love how respectful this book is of religion while also encouraging safe exploration and growth. I feel like me and my sister can both read this and approve. I also used to work at a r@pe crisis center and the consent messaging is up-to-date and excellent. Thank you!! I can sleep better knowing she'll have this knowledge.

Great Graduation Gift for High School Students
I got this as a gift for my niece that is starting college in the fall. I flipped through it and found a lot of great life lessons inside that didn't talk down to the reader but encouraged them to be their best self. I wish I had this for life in general not just for college. There are a lot of harder subjects that are talked about in a delicate way. Even if you're not comfortable talking about them, such as sex and pressure to have sex.

Great graduation gift with solid advice for incoming college freshmen.
I love that it gives real advice for a high school graduate/college freshmen. Purchased this book as a gift for my nephew and only skimmed it, but enjoyed everything I read. Contains quotes from students at a wide range of colleges and universities and covers topics all students worry about. Good advice and well thought out. Thanks for the unique & helpful gift.

Best Guide for First Year College Students
Bought this for my niece who is entering her freshman year of college. She has already put the great recommendations contained in this book to good use and I'm sure it will be her "bible" during her first semester. Well-written and interesting. Though written in an entertaining way, the author is very serious in providing new students with the information to keep them centered and safe. I read some of the chapters and found them very entertaining and informative. A must have guide for the student embarking on this most important chapter of his/her life.
