Can the door be installed the opposite direction from that shown? That is, can it open from the right instead of the left?

Yes,you will need to turn the door upsidedown and drill holes for the hinges in the left side interior of the frame, this means the louvers will be backwards,and move the magnetic catch to the right.(knob works as is)

Can you provide the width at the very bottom of the cabinet? From leg to leg. Top has extra width which sits above toilet.
