Meal Replacement Bar - Optifast Berry Bar - Weight loss bar for 'On the go' meal replacement (6 x 65g)

Nice flavour and I feel full after eating it.

I'm not big on meal replacement bars as they usually have a taste and texture of cardboard but given these are from a more respected brand (Nestle) and have a berry flavour, I was hopeful they would be better. In the box you get six bars and plenty of space around, a waste of around 30% of the packaging so not very environmentally friendly. The bars are wrapped in a plastic metallic wrapper that is easy to open. The bar inside at first glance did not install confidence in the flavour and texture though as it looked like a thick piece of cardboard, even down to the dark beige colour. Before eating, the one thing I noticed was a message on the wrapper suggesting it is eaten with plenty of liquid - another red flag to the texture for me. Taking a bite, I was right on the texture front. It did feel just like eating cardboard, and I instantly realised why they recommend drinking a lot of water. Flavour though was a revelation as it had a great berry flavour. Having tried all six bars, I did find they made a full meal replacement with each bar, and I wasn't hungry after eating one. That said, I won't be buying them again. Not only are they quite expensive for a meal bar but the texture is really off-putting to me. I also didn't notice any change to my weight through the time I was using them - perhaps I was just eating the wrong things for other meals during that time.

Yes they are very chewy and filling JUST VERY EXPENSIVE so won't be buying them again. Chocolate glamour is the best, cappuccino comes 2nd, Berry one os also nice. Not tried them all but I found one called CEREAL which are really didn't like as it was extremely bland had to swallow it down with loads of water. That's my choice hope it helps

At the moment I'm on a post lockdown shakes meal replacement diet. I can cope with the tadtes of the shakes but really struggle wuth the hunger and the lack of being able to chew. The diet company I use supplied me with a couple of their meal replacement bars but I found them a bit sickly and very high in that orotein taste. When I saw these I was delighted to try them 224 calories a bar. Every day I have a shakd for breakfast and lunch and then ond of the bars for tea. It's a real treat to be able to bite into something and chew it. The added bonus isit really dies fill you,so there's no going to bed with hunger pains or your stomach soundibg like a washing machine starting to spin. They taste delicious and there's no sickly protein taste to them either. Taken regularly as a meal replacement as part of a calorie controlled diet ,yes you will lose weight on these. I'd love to buy more of these as I've really got used to my 'treat tea' on this diet. But costing £17 for 6 bars is well out of my budget. Shame really as these are the best tasting replacement meal bars I have tasted in a long time. If you can afford these then you'll be pleased with your choice.

Before you read my review, it's important to say that it's hard to review food as it's very subject to personal taste. Everyone's tastes are different, so I should not that this review is from my personal experience and should not be taken as gospel. Thank you for reading: I was intrigued when I saw these bars, so I thought why not? And I thought I would order and try them: - The bars arrived in a decent box with plenty of product information. - The bars are a decent size so you have plenty to tuck in to. - Texture wise, they are quite hard at first... They're almost like eating cardboard in a way... But not terrible... - Taste wise, you can taste the cherry... But there's an odd taste to it... Not horrible odd, just odd... - They certainly fill you up! You can't eat these fast as they're quite dense. But you definitely get full, even before you've finished the bar! I would recommend them to be fair. At least to try them! They're not a huge meal replacement, but certainly if you have a big lunch, these are good for a small dinner.

These meal replacement bars I found very boring to eat…I found them very chewy and dry…. You can certainly taste the berry flavouring and thin chocolate around them…. These are 65g size bars…and currently £17 for 6…far to expensive… I would have preferred half the size bars with 12 in the box… Sorry cannot recommend

Nice tasty bars. A little chewy then some others, but still taste good.. No nasty aftertaste. With 21g of protein in per bar they kept me filled up for quite a few hours. No gastrointestinal side effects.. Recommended.

These bars are a decent size, have great contents and do stop you feeling hungry for hours. They also taste nice which is always a bonus. However they are far too expensive at £17 for 6 bars and I think this will put a lot of people off.
