Q: Once I open the package, how long do they last and what is the best way to preserve them?

I am not sure how long they last after the package has being opened. I understand they last a long time if they are kept in salt.

Q: What is the diameter of the casing?

The casings I received seem to range from 7/8" to around 1 1/4". I have only gone through about a quarter of the casings so the diameters may fluctuate more.

Q: i stuffed the casings and tried to grill them on the gas grill and they fell apart. the casing melted off in a second. what did i do wrong?

I haven't had this problem either. They grilled just fine. Maybe you soaked the casings too long?
