GABA - Sprouted Brown Rice 1 2kg bag

Easier on my digestion than regular brown rice. I use it in any recipe which reminds me it is time to cook some again.

Bought this instead of Genmai brown rice just to compare the products. I was looking for a healthy product that would fit well into my recipes. In comparison I prefer the Genmai, for its quality and ease of cooking. The Gaba takes much longer to cook, even after soaking for at least half an hour or more. This requires a lot of adjustment to recipes such as jambalaya so as not to overcook the other ingredients. Although the Gaba rice is OK, I much prefer the Genmai.

Good rice #1

I have become very particular about my rice. Like many, I began to prefer the Nishiki or Kokohu Rose rices over standard US brands. Then I graduated to liking Tamaki Gold, a specialty Imperial grade rice. Previously, I have been generally unimpressed with most brown rice offerings. However, GABA sprouted rice has proven to be the brown rice I was looking for. When prepared exactingly by the cooking instructions it yields a rice with a lovely feel in your mouth (although a slightly different feel than Tamaki Gold) and only the most delicate hints of earthiness. I enjoy this rice, and eat it several times a week. Word to the wise, it's great asset, it's delicacy as a rice, even though it is brown, lays the burden on you to treat it properly.
