Fantastic hiking boot
I needed a really comfortable, waterproof, supportive, study, light walking boot for walking my dogs in all weathers on various surfaces and I would normally try on several different pairs in shops before buying but these looked good so I got them and hoped for the best. I have been thrilled with them and what fantastic value. They are incredibly comfortable and the high, very soft supportive ankles are invaluable. They didnt need breaking in - it is like walking in your favourite soft slippers - and have been fabulous in the snow, on ice, wet ground, and uneven stony surfaces. They grip, never slip but are light to wear, warm and really supportive. I can happily wear them all day they are so comfortable. I think they are an absolute bargain. They were true to size too - I am a 37/4 and they fit perfectly.

These boots ARE made for walking!
I bought these boots based on the reviews already posted. The only concern I had was whether they would fit my wide feet.I have also recently had foot surgery so my tootsies still need a bit of TLC! I am usually UK Size 7 or 7.5 I bought the 7 which looked VERY narrow when I took them out of the box but although they were a bit tight to start with on my "bad" foot they were not excessively so.I took out the insoles provided and substituted my own purpose made foot beds so that would have used a little extra space as well. I did not find they rubbed my ankles at all as one previous review had stated and I don't wear long socks with them, in fact I wear thin short socks because I suffer from hot feet. The boots felt light, supportive and comfortable. I like the way they open wide to allow ease of putting on which can be a bit of a pest with walking boots. I found the laces were long enough and did not need tying in a double knot to keep them secure(although too short for double knotting)I wear them on a daily basis, in all weathers, to walk my dog through wet fields and woods and they seem waterproof. I feel they still need a bit of breaking in but I think that's just my feet rather than the boots and for people with "normal" feet I am sure they would feel extremely comfortable from Day 1. I hope they will last for years although as walking boots go they were an excellent price.Delivery was good too - just a day later than promised which wasn't bad given the weather conditions in my area at the time.

Favourite boots ever
I Bought these boots for the Missus, she's had the exact same pair before and I have had 3 pairs of the mens version too. This may sound like a lot of boots but considering that we wear them all day everyday at work it's not so bad. They are waterproof as they are leather unlike the fabric "waterproof" boots that you can buy that just do not seem to cut it being outside in all weathers. They are comfortableThey are easy to clean and maintain (polish and bootwax rather than the expensive "waterproofer" you have to apply to the fabric boots).I wear mine for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week and only wear Wellington boots if it has been raining for a few days. They last for 6-8 months like this before a seam goes which I think is likened to a weekend rambler wearing them for 3+ years! The Sole has never gone on a pair yet even with the constant kneeling and spade use.I'd happily recommend these boots for gardeners who don't want or need the extra weight or safety of steel toe-caped boots, Countryside wardens who walk a lot in all weathers and ramblers.Decent price on them too.

Good boots but hate like the plastic inner material around the ankles
I've had good results with Karrimor shoes, so I thought I'd take a punt on these, On first inspection I was very disappointed at the cream coloured vinyl plastic material chosen for the inner around the ankle support. Makes the boot look cheap (they are relatively cheap, but I don't want them to LOOK cheap. On first wearing that part is quite inflexible and doesn't breathe. I would certainly not wear them without walking socks covering over your ankles. Saying that the rest of the boot around the foot is VERY comfortable. After breaking them in and spending time wiggling the ankle bit to make it more flexible (I also don't do up the last lace hooks to stop the ankle part rubbing - plus because that material doesn't breathe it makes it hot to wear and keeping it loose helps) I find them comfortable for long rambles. I think I'd buy the pair that doesn't have high ankle support next time to avoid this.

Wonderful value
In the Lake District on holiday and my boots of 14 years let the water in! I did a few hours research online and came upon these very similar to my old "Becks". I trust the brand as my daughter has a pair of Karrimor Boots and the price was very good. The boots arrived at my home two days later ( I had hardly unpacked my suitcase). The leather is very good quality, supple but looks hardwearing. The Sole has very good tread and the boots are very comfortable. They are a little higher on the ankle than my former boots, but the right length of socks should sort out any chance of rubbing.
