Brake switch works!
Easy to install. Fixed the issue of the engine not turning on because of the brake switch (wasn’t recognizing foot on brake). Replaced it with this one and no more problems. If I can do it myself, anyone can!

Easy to install and fixed stuck shift stick
I have a Nissan Versa 2011 and the shift stick was locked on parking, the stop lights were working fine so I had to remove the switch and test it to verify that it was indeed the reason, replacement takes 5 minutes, just make sure to take a picture of the setup before removing it so you can have the same distance on the new one. It has been working for a month now with no issues. There are very simple videos in Youtube that will show you have to change it and test it.There are cheaper options in Amazon but I decided for the original Nissan part.

Works well at first, fails after a couple years.
I bought this for a 2009 Nissan Altima. Part works as expected when first installed. However, it only lasted just shy of two years for the first one I bought. Net, doesn't have the same longevity as the factory part which lasted for 7 years, but for $20, it does the trick and is a small expense to keep the brake lights working (and the car starting!).

Fix intermittent start up issues - Great OEM part
Fixed the issue I was having with intermittent startup. The "push brake pedal" light would be on, despite pushing it and trying to start the car. It's 13 years old, so some things are bound to failed eventually. Seems like a pretty critical part that might have been under engineered though. Glad I bought this and did it myself vs paying the stealership.

Great replacement, but install correctly or brake lock up
I almost bought the aftermarket brand for half the price but I read a review about the brakes locking up so I went with OEM.When you install it, the multiple ribs on the shaft are for depth adjustment. Do NOT push the brake pedal down so you can install it all the way to the base. Doing so will actually hold the brake in the partially depressed position, I.e. driving with your brakes on.Instead, leaving the brake pedal in its normal position, inset shaft until the button is fully depressed into the shaft and the end is flush with the brake pedal, the turn clockwise to lock in place. If you do this wrong, your brakes will overheat and lock up. Then you will have to remove and replace it at the correct depth.Hope this helps someone. I didn’t find this information anywhere and deduced it from a couple reviews and a forum post.In retrospect, I would have bought the aftermarket switch for 1/2 the price
