Great ssd cooler, long fan cable, do not use metal mounting brackets, use zip ties or rubber bands
It’s a great ssd cooler will decrease temps by 10 c is a little high pitched but any sound at all you don’t hear it, you can plug it onto a 3 pin fan header on motherboard cable is pretty long work with my motherboard with cable to spare a gigabyte 970 am3+ Gaming sli, DON NOT USE THE BRACKETS, it will short the ssd out and your motherboard wont detect ssd, tiny zip ties or thick tiny rubber bands should secure it to ssd the brackets will short it out at some point, it doesn’t break the ssd when it’s shorted, just unusable until you remove them.

Doesn't do miracles but still very efficient if you need a 10-15C drop
My NVMe was easily reaching 70C under heavy load so I was wondering if something could help to cool it down and then I saw this device on Amazon. Not cheap but I thought I could give it a try and I am very satisfied. Now my temp tops at 55C even under full stress. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and it takes a few minutes to install.I have only three minor complains so far. First, the clear transparent plastic film is a pain to remove without destroying the thermal pad (for some reason the blue one peels off very easily I don't understand why the other side is so difficult). Also for me, the brand name on the heat sink is upside down because the fan needs to be on the screw side and it's on the left side on my motherboard. It's also a little bit overpriced for what it does but overall I am glad I bought it.

1 star because it came in the box
I couldn't give this a zero star rating because it did arrive in the box. That is really the best thing about it. Room temp is about 68*F and with this items off of it, it runs about 47*F at idle. When I go to play a game or Photoshop, it rams up to about 55*F. With this item installed, I get about 44*F and 57*F at full load. Thought I might have installed it backwards as the instructions do say to make sure the fan is not over the controller portion of the NVME, and it isn't. I will say that I do have a low volume of air moving across just for noise sake, but if I turn up my fans to a tolerable level, I still get the same performance whether this thing is on it or off. I'm sorry I bought it. I should have just stuck with my gut instinct and just got one that had a little taller of fins for the surface area. I HAD to go fancy with a tiny fan that I assume will just die in 6 months. I guess we can award the single star that I have to give to the fan. It is quiet. Not sure its doing the job I want it to, but it is at least spinning. I don't suggest this item at all.

At first, it was excellent, but after about a year, they become unbearably loud.
The ease of installation and material quality are very good! I bought the first-gen version of this device several years ago and returned it because it was cheaply made, and loud. The surprising part is that this device keeps my 2nd NVMe drive over 1/2 the temperature of the NVMe drive that is mounted directly to the motherboard with a large heatsink.Update at 90 days:Initially, I was able to run the fan at a fixed full speed of 7400 RPM, and it was completely silent. At 90 days I had to lower max speed to 5600 RPM to run silently, but even at that speed, my SSD is running at 28c. vs my heat-sink only SSD which runs at 47c. I'll update again if this speed needs to decrease further.Update at the end of a year:Unfortunately, I'm having to lower my rating. Llike many of the reviews stated the noise that these give off is unbearable. It's a slow decline, so it took me a very long time to notice it, but when I finally did I had to lower the speed to only sixty percent duty cycle! For the price paid, that is just unacceptable, especially when this is in the price range of a Noctua fan, the gold standard of fans!

Well-made but doesn't do anything useful
This is a nice-looking NVMe SSD cooler. Unfortunately, looks are less important than performance, and I get the exact same temperature readings from my Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD regardless of whether I use this cooler or not. Without a cooler, the SSD reaches a stable temperature of 57°C at idle; with this cooler, the SSD reaches the exact same temperature at idle, it just takes about 20 minutes longer for the temperature to stabilize. That means the cooler has more thermal mass than the SSD alone (which is obvious), but it isn't actually dissipating heat any better than the SSD alone. This doesn't really surprise me, since the fan is tiny and doesn't produce noticeable airflow even at maximum speed. Most electronics get the best cooling just by being exposed rather than hidden underneath heatsinks (CPUs are a big exception because they use so much power), but since the Samsung Magician app is complaining about the temperature of my SSD, I thought I'd give this cooler a try anyway. The result was what I expected: No improvement whatsoever.
