Original Swivel Sweeper 7.2 Volt Replacement Battery

My house is all vinyl flooring and for quick clean ups I use a stick vac. It is easy and light weight and does the job. I however had been keeping the rechargeable battery in the outlet and only taking out when running the stick vac. Soon my battery time was very short and had little power. I purchased 2 additional batteries which would have cost the same if not a little less then buying another stick vac. I only charge the batteries for 8 hours and use until they are dead and I can do the whole floor with one battery and the original vac works just fine and I now have 2 batteries to swap between

In the past, it was almost as expensive to obtain a replacement battery for a Swivel Sweeper as it was to buy a new sweeper with battery. This 7.2v replacement battery for the original Swivel Sweeper has proved to be an excellent and economical solution to keep it running. After the first replacement battery proved itself, we ordered a second. As with the original batteries, they do not like to be over-charged. Since this is due to the simplistic charger packaged with the sweeper, you are reminded by a note with the replacement battery to manually limit the charging time.

This is my first replacement battery for the Swivel Sweeper. As others have indicated, it doesn't hold a charge well at all. Even after trying all of the helpful hints, nothing seems to help. If it is fully charged, it works fine, but it has to be recharged after minimul use. The original battery did not have this problem, so it seems strange that this one does. There is a newer battery available, but I bought this one since I have the original Swivel Sweeper.I would be interested in knowing if the newer battery does any better.

After using this sweeper often, I noticed that even thought I recharged the battery, the sweeper ran slow and for only a short time. I read some comments on this and most everyone had the same problem. The solution? Charge the battery ONCE, then use it until it ran down all the way, then recharge it for a full 8 hours. Do NOT use and the recharge. Do NOT keep the battery in the charger when not in use. There is apparently a "memory" to the battery. I don't recall what the instructions said about this.This sweeper works quite well for light sweeping on hard floors. I wish the comany would use a 9 or 12 volt lithium ion battery. Much stronger and longer lasting. I would even pay $10 - #20 more for that.

Bought another battery as a spare. The unit came in a "manila envelope" with no receipt, or internal wrapping...No problem I thought, ....charged the "new" battery for the required 8 hours, no less or no more...plugged the "new battery" in and it had no power and lasted for about 10 minutes total throughout the week. Charged the old battery and the unit works just fine and lasts much longer...Contacted the seller/Amazon, and they told me that I needed the ROM# that was on the packaging that of course I threw away, to get a replacement. So basically I'm stuck with this faulty "new battery"...not even sure if it is new, since it had no packaging or instructions or anything....they just "threw it in a manila envelope" and shipped it to me...Not even sure I want another....Might be just as good to buy a new Swivel Sweeper unit or even another Shark unit...The idea behind the Swivel Sweeper is great, but the battery is a money maker for these guys....My suggestion...don't buy the battery, and just buy a new unit if the "Swivel Sweeper" is what you absolutely have to have....I'm going to try a Shark Unit for about the same price....No thanks on the "new"? battery........Update:...Amazon or the "As seen on TV Company contacted me via Email, sent me a Code, address, so I sent it back in a "better" package that they sent, and it's been 3 weeks and nothing yet...no battery, no communication, ..nothing!..So, contacted Amazon, and they know nothing either...Spent money for the battery, spent money to send it back....could have just bought and new Sweeper....Now, I am out the money for the battery, shipping back to the vendor,......and no product...Don't do it!

I had no idea until recently that I could buy a replacement battery for my swivel sweeper. It's cheaper, even with shipping cost, to get the battery instead of buying the entire swivel sweeper. And it works beautifully! Anybody out there who wants to get debris off floors, and carpets, easily and quickly, has to get the swivel sweeper! It really came in handy after two surgical operations where I couldn't do deep cleaning. Really cleans and now I know where to get the replacement batteries! (And the battery does last a very long time!)

I love my Swivel Sweeper, but the batteries don't last long enough. Then I would have to go buy a new sweeper because they don't offer an extra battery anymore. I have bought 4 of these sweepers. Two as gifts and 2 for me. When I purchased these batteries on AMAZON I wasn't sure if the would be what I wanted or not, but, YES, they were. My sweepers run like new now and I have been saved from having to buy ANOTHER sweeper. I will know where to go from now on to purchase these batteries.

I love my Swivel Sweeper, I use it for small jobs like picking up small depris brought in from out side when people can't seem to remember to wipe their feet. Now that my husband is retired , it is used a lot ,he has his workshop outside where he spends a lot of his time if not at his computer inside, which means on a good day, sunshine and all, he makes a lot of trips back and forth from one end of the house to the other, wiping feet ?? well not always, so I just walk behind him litteraly to where ever he is going in the house picking up debris falling from his shoes that he didn't wipe off his feet. It is too much trouble to pull out your large vaccum just for small jobs like this, so I love mine and I recommend a Swivel Sweeper to everyone, it is worth it.

The battery did not work, when plugged in it does not charge,, the light on the bottom part is always red does not charge. Please advise if another part has to be replaced.
