It is shipped flat so it can be shipped affordably and greatly reduces the chance of damage .Some assembly will be required ,all that is needed is a philips head screwdriver. Every component of this piece was hand cut fitted and finished by hand in the same manner it would have been built in years gone by when quality was of importance .The finish is hand rubbed to bring out all the distinct grain qualities of the wood and then finished with several coats of satin polyurethane for a lifetime of durability and maintenance free cleaning.
