This light works great for my small saltwater tank. Love the ability to set the timer for on, sunset and night. You can also adjust the brightness of the light.

This light is fantastic. It clips on easily and the programming is pretty intuitive. I love that I can set the times of the day for it to turn on and off, as well as the percentage of white or blue light for day or night. Much better than other timer lights I've purchased in the past.

I went with this for my micro reef refugium and it’s perfect for my application. I’m growing caulerpa prolifera, and within two days of adding the new caulerpa, the macro algae was growing and I can see tiny bubbles of oxygen leaving the plants. The controller is basic but allows percentage control of both white and blue LEDs. The only drawback is the clock has to be re-programmed any time the controller loses power, but that isn’t an issue if you have a UPS battery backup for your tank. Minor inconvenience in my opinion. If you lose power, the on/off/spectrum% settings are still saved, however.

The light itself works well and has been coming on for almost a year. Nice and bright for the five gal. I was hoping this would help my low light plants but it’s not enough.

Really surprised with the adjustability of the timer settings and the light output for both types of leds. Hard to beat for the money. Definitely recommend this light. ***Update one month in, finding the light will shut off and turn on during the day and also flickers. Now I'm questioning the quality of the light.

I love this product, but unfortunately I can't recommend it. I bought the marine version of this product to grow coral, and was very surprised at the brightness and overall quality and features it packed. This light is bright enough that I am using it on a 75 gallon right now (with low light corals). I wanted to buy a few more to fully light up the tank instead of spending hundreds on name brand lights, and was very disappointed in my second light. Not only did it NOT come with a POWER CORD, BUT instead of TWO ROWS OF BLUE LEDs (the light that grows coral) and one row of daylight LEDs it has ONE ROW OF BLUE LEDs and two rows of daylight LEDs. After I used the power cord from the other light I realized that the timer DIDN'T WORK. On the first light you had multiple lighting modes, timers to change between different modes, and even sunrise and sunsets to help the fish and coral wakeup naturally, but the second one just turned everything on or off!!! No special lighting modes, no timer, no anything. JUST TO TOP IT OFF after all that disappointment nearly HALF of the few blue light I did get DIDN'T WORK. I was able to return it and receive a new one that worked as intended, however, to me the most important thing when buying something is to get what you bought. Therefore even though I love the (working version of the) product I can't recommend it.

Surprisingly good for the price. Could use another strip of white light but still pretty bright for the size

- Brightness is good for a 5.5 gallon. I haven't had it long enough yet to observe plant or algae growth. - Clip seems sturdy, but it is a fixed alignment with no adjustment. - When mounted lengthwise on a rectangular tank, the light bar does not span the whole length of the tank, nor is it in the middle, so there's more light on the side under the light than the other. - The light is not horizontal. So it throws a lot of light outside one side of the aquarium. - If you sit near it, make sure it is below your eye level or else the bulbs will be in your peripheral vision. - The back of the light gets pretty hot. A well ventilated location seems necessary. Timer The clock and settings reset on loss of power. So I can't rely on it. Further, I could set the time but couldn't set the on/off schedule. So I plugged it into my timer plug. When my plug switches on, the light takes a minute to turn on. If you want a light with a reliable built in timer, this is not for you. If you want to control brightness and/or color, this is not easy. If your tank is bigger than 5 or 10 gallons and rectangular, this won't do.

Good quality love it

I got a betta fish recently and a pre-owned aquarium - 3.5gallon. It came with a tiny LED light that was also half broken and only on and off for white and blue light. I was looking for one with a automatic sunrise-sunset timer at a reasonable price that would be suitable for this size of a tank. After days of research on both USA and Canadian Amazon - this came out to be by far the best value and functionality. It does the timer, it has a manual mode and you can set the brightness for each mode - it's absolutely fantastic product! The small tank I have only needs 5% intensity for the blue light at night and only about 10% for the daytime - so it has a huge potential. No live plants here so it doesn't have to be so bright. I will post some photos and update after some time of use. I recommend this to others for small tanks of the 3.5-5 gallons depending on their shape as it's narrow.

After going through lot of positive reviews I decided to buy this. I received this after 10 days. I have 2ft dense planted tank with easy to moderate plant. Quality of the light is good but the light intensity is not as good as people described in the review section. I am very new to it lets sees how it goes and most importantly how plant reacts. I'll update after using it 10 to 15 days.

I purchased this for my tall Column tank. So far I have had it a couple months and it is working great! My plants seem to be enjoying the extra light it gives them. I'm not sure if they are growing any better but it is bright enough to reach the bottom and light up the tank well. Very easy to install and I can move it around no problem. I definitely like this light for my fish tank!
