To preface, I'm Eastern Orthodox Christian and study and make textile and beaded icons. This blanket is a surprisingly lovely copy of a Sofrino-made version of the Eastern Orthodox icon of the Virgin of Extreme Humility, an icon loved by St. Seraphim of Sarov, among other faithful. The design is surprisingly accurately rendered, without distortion. Even the delicate gold-gilded details on the original icon are recreated successfully in the tapestry design, and if you've seen a Sofrino icon, you know that's saying a lot!I couldn't believe I stumbled across this while late-night browsing, and tried to keep my expectations low, but it arrived after just a day and a night, was colorfast in the washing machine, and tumbled dry without edge raveling. Doesn't look in the least cheap or tacky, even beside my icon corner full of many actual Sofrino icons. The colors are more rich and vivid than shown in the product listing, or in my photos - the red and blue contrast seems to confuse phone cameras a little bit. It seems to be synthetic, not cotton, but I'm fine with that since it's more important to me that the icon is durable. There are still fold creases after one wash but I expect them to relax over time. Photos show it on top of a full size bed. It would be more of a large throw on a larger bed.It's very important to Orthodox that our icons are properly, respectfully rendered, and I'm amazed that this turned out not to be just a kitschy Amazon buy, but a real icon. I plan to buy several more of these blankets to give as gifts.

This is a beautiful and high quality peice! I absolutely love it!NOTE: This is a blanket that you buy for decoration, not function. It is very thin as a blanket, so it wont keep you warm on a cold night. Personally, I use it to cover an ugly heirloom rocking chair that was left to me. Now it is actually pretty to look at.😄I highly recommend this product!

This is exactly as pictured and is so beautiful! But that is it. It is more for decor or be used as a tapestry. Maybe even a summer blanket to protect you from strong A/C. I like it in cold leather chairs/sofas. Keeping it for that purpose but will not use for warmth in the winter. I was freezing!

My cats loveeee this blanket and are always on it, only a few threads have come loose and it holds up great in the washing machine! Only one side has the butterflies but they are just like the picture!!
