Expensive but worth it
I've gone through dozens of cheap chain tools. They all break. All of them. This is definitely not one of them. The problem with the cheap ones is the chain guide is not adjustable, and it really needs to be. Without an adjustable chain guide (or what Park calls the locating shelf) the chain WILL just tilt over, the pin will then be at an angle, and instead of pushing it out you will bend and thus destroy the driving pin on the tool, and probably destroy your chain in the process.See this review, for example: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R2GO4H3WJPTJFZ/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00E0FZV1YThe only way you can actually use these cheap chain tools is if you're lucky enough to have a massively thick chain, as that seems to be the standard these Chinese manufacturers are catering to, and in over half a century of riding all kinds of bikes I can honestly say I've never seen a chain that thick - I wouldn't even know where to buy one. Maybe it's a big thing in China, who knows?Anyway, no such problem with this US made Park Tool. It has a floating chain guide, and thus your chain is always guaranteed to fit perfectly. No more broken chain tools! In the long run, you'll save yourself a ton of money.

Excellent but not essential
I had a cheaper chain tool that has always been good, but loaned it out and never got it back, I've got one on my multi tool but isn't good to use in a workshop environment so thought I'd treat myself. It cost more than double my old tool that did exactly the same job I just find this one nicer to use as its a lot bigger. I wouldn't want to take it out on rides like I would with my old one but if you want a dedicated workshop tool and can afford the expense then it's well worth it.

Buyer Beware !!
Bought this chain tool as park are supposed to be of the highest quality , the tool had obviously been used [see pics ] marks on silver plate & box was ripped ... also the pin was very wobbly , not the best , & expensive to boot , so sent back for a refund & bought the Pro bike one for £15 less , which is superb btw.

Should Have Bought This From The Start
It works perfectly.I initially bought a Chinese bike tool kit which had a chain breaker in it. I spent over an hour trying to break the chain with that unless thing before I gave up.The Parkside chain breaker is very expensive and difficult to justify buying but it does the job perfectly.
