Powerful pump!
The media could not be loaded. As you can see in the video, I had a terrible pump before. It was one of those all in one fountain filter/pumps...don't buy those! You'll thank me later. Anyway, if you watch the video to the end, you'll see how much more powerful this pump is. Excuse the green pond, but that's what my old filter/pump left me with. It was always green with algae. I just installed this new pump today, so it'll take time to clean it up. It's been going for about 5 hours & I can already tell it's cleaner than it was! Yes, it was that gross before. Anyway, I have this pump paired with a separate filter that sits outside of the pond & a 1 inch hose connecting them & another 1 inch hose stuck between the two top rocks to create the waterfall. I showed this set up to help anyone looking for a better solution to dragging heavy filters or pumps out to clean them. This pump is small & light & has a handle if you need to take it out. Now to see how long it lasts. I'll update my review if it breaks.

Runs great
I looked and tried several pumps trying to get the right one. This is it! The inlet has the ability to put a hose connection which I wanted so I could add a pre-pump filter. The power is great which I needed to run a 4ft waterfall. The motor seems quiet, although it’s under water and only my fish could really say how loud it is. It’s a great value so far. I have been running it for about 30 days with not a single issue. Feeling good about this one!

Good but reliability design flaw. DO NOT OPERATE AT LOWEST SETTING
I used this for 3-4 hours then it died. I was upset and then saw all the reliability issues for this motor. I took it apart and was able to get it working again. I have found that it comes with the knob adjusted down to the negative line indicator. when in this position it does not allow ANY water through the main chamber and water has to seep in the sides, basically choking out the motor. The motor is working extra to pull that water in through the cracks. I believe this is what is causing others and myself to have reliability issues with this motor.Turned the knob to medium and its worked for 4 days straight now with no problem! DO NOT OPERATE AT LOWEST SETTING

Great pond pump!
Very nice pump so far. Nice size for my 500 gallon koi pond. It filters and operates a stork and turtle water feature. It was not clear from the description but thanks to a very kind person who answered my question here, I found that it does indeed accept the attachment of a prefilter if you twist of the debris guard on the front (where the blue dial is). It exposed threads that accept one of the many adapters that were included with the pump. You simply choose the one that fits the hoses you use to go to your filter. It could use a little better explanation of how to assemble the adapters with the hose, but I was able to figure it out. It is doing a much better job of filtering the water than the pump it replaced and my jaw about hit the floor when I walked out the next morning and saw how crystal clear the water was. I could see every detail of the koi. I am very happy with this purchase and the price was much better than any I could find locally at any of the places that carry pond supplies

Stopped working!
Update: Pump fried after two months. The first one was great, the next one was trash. I won't buy again.I bought this pump for a water feature seven+ years ago. Was easy to install with all the adapters and had a nice long cord to plug in without any wiring hassles. Ran great for for the cost, even though it ran dry a couple times due to leaf clogging, it always reset until it didn't anymore. The pump and GFCI plug both burned up but I figured seven years was a good run for a cheap pump.I went back in my Amazon orders and thought it would be easy enough to order the same thing, screw the plumbing on the new pump, plug it in and I'd be good for another seven years. The first one I ordered was damaged and missing all the adapter parts. I could have lived with that since I already had them from the old pump. It didn't run when I plugged it in-Couldn't live with that!I returned it and got another one. It came in, had the adapters and ran outta the box so I put it in the basin and plumbed it in. That's when I realized the new cord was several feet shorter than the old cord. I spliced it longer, shrink-wrapped it, flex-seal taped it and put it in the ground. It ran for less than a month and quite working. This time the house breaker tripped and won't reset. I haven't troubleshot where the problem lies but something shorted the circuit and I'm guessing it was because I had to splice the short little cord. The "easy, cheap, pump replacement" is turning into a chore....

very affordable and powerful
This is a very affordable powerful little pump. I put the first one in my pond and this one I purchased for my Mom's pond. I have mine hooked up to a waterfall that is about 15 feet away from the pump and about three feet high to the waterfall entrance. It works great creates a fast flow over the waterfall drop. Today I did add a pre filter to my pump because the plant waste gets sucked against the intake. I never saw a decrease in the water movement but I got tired of reaching in and scraping it off the sides of the pump plus I don't think enough of the waste was making it to the above ground filter. I have a 16 foot by five foot by 18" deep pond with two smaller pumps running the spitter and a bubbler. The pond is crystal clear with the exception of string algae that comes with the full sun in the desert. I would get that no matter what pump I had in there.
