Works as good as the OEM
Has to be programmed by a locksmith or dealer. There is no way to do it without the diagnostic interface unlike some other cars. The key blank was a little longer at the tip and had to be replaced but that may have happened during the cutting process. So just be aware. Otherwise I am very happy with it.

Make sure you get the right transmitter frequency for your car
I purchased this unit to add another key to our 2016 Mazda CX5. Our locksmith was able to get the chip part to work so that when you hold it up to the button, the car can start, but after verifying that the battery is OK, he said the transmitter section is not the right frequency for the vehicle and may be intended for other countries where the frequency is different than the United States. Therefore the remote access and "key in your pocket" starting doesn't work. I had the chance to return it but time ran out before I could address the issue. At least it works as a spare.

Fail
Didn't work, Mazda dealership said they get people with one like it in all the time no joy... The sites provided just provided a list of locksmiths most of which can't do anything about car software.... Get a Mazda OEM key or just go to the dealership.. it's expensive but saves you from wasting your time

Didn’t worrk
Had locksmith come out and try to program key. You can hold the key up to the push start but the buttons didn’t work. Wasted time and money… also numbers did match the original key and stilll didn’t work

Easy ta swap out the inside pieces so I had a key, otherwise it's too spendy to get it made. U cannot just program it yerself

Do not purchase.
After spending $95 to program, the FOB will not unlock or lock the doors. You'll need to unlock the door with the hidden key, and hold the FOB against the start button to start the car. This was on a 2018. Mazda 3. Stick with the OEM FOB.

Parfait

May or may not work
I am a locksmith and this is the correct fob for the vehicle but the aftermarket fobs like these have been spotty. I was able to program the chip to start the car but the the convenience buttons don't work. The 315mhz frequency is right but won't communicate with the car. Programming the chip and cutting the key still works as a spare, just no remote buttons work

unsatisfactory
Took the key fob to a Mazda dealer and they where unable to fully program the fob and nearly broke the machine trying to cut the key. I still had to pay for the job they tried to do but was unsuccessful because the fob was faulty. I should be refund for this in full.

Cant program fully
Please dont buy, as this key can NOT be programmed for range ie lock/unlock and starting. Only starts if fob is touching start button. If i could give this a zero I would
