Root Slayer Metal Detecting Spade

I was looking for a more specialized digger for metal detector outings and was going to opt for a more expensive one, I settled on this one instead. I’m glad I did. It is the perfect size, durable, and gets through tough soil and roots quite well. I use it now in my garden and yard regularly as well. Solid product.

I was hesitant to buy the metal detecting version for metal detecting because I thought I wanted the round handle. But I saw enough reviews mentioning the metal detecting version being good for metal detecting so I went with it. What I didn't realize is the handle and the angled shovel are fantastic for standing in one spot and digging a round hole. The handle basically stays over the center of the plug as you turn it around, and the foot piece is perfect for pressure to dig. And as others have stated, it digs very easily. Even in hard dry ground, it pulls out a plug with ease. While walking I use a belt magnet that the handle attaches to nicely. But it's also light enough to carry, or even drag behind you with a finger through the hole. Great shovel, highly recommend.

This was purchased to be used while metal detecting. Makes digging so much easier. It is a little heavy and doesn't break apart for traveling, but great for when I detect close to home.

I love this shovel. I use it for metal detecting. I used a weed whacker shoulder strap and hooked it on to easily carry over my shoulder. Nice and sturdy shovel. Very durable and dependable. The height is comfortable to use compared to a shorter shovel that I have.

I used this tool to kill the bamboo roots that invaded my yard from next door and cut through the roots well alot better then a regular shovel.

Incredible. Let the tool do the job. Little effort and it just does it. Perfect for trenching or even digging for a new plant etc. feels and works great.
