Want more!
I've been hankering for achar for 30 years--since returning to the States from "over there". Don;'t know how recently this was added to the line-up, but having found it , I ordered it (obviously). We love, love, love the flavor--just as we had remembered achar, even tho a different co. I love just a little on my ham and cheese sandwich. George eats it straight out of the jar. If you like hot AND tasty, this is yummmy.Edit: I ordered a second jar. The lid, as others have said, was loose. Contacted co. They sent a new jar and said to throw away the leaking jar. , which I did. New jar in good condition. BUT the achar was not. It is too SALTY to eat. I thought it might be due to settling and would be okay if it were better blended. I dumped the achar into a bowl and discovered, at the bottom, very large chunks of mango (?) consisting of everything but the seeds. Unspreadable and still inedibly salty. Will try yet again because the first jar was soooo good.Note to Amazon: There are 2 offerings of this product from Rani. I answered a question. It's not here. It's not there. Where is my answer to the question? Because it, too, needs to be edited.

Delicious and spicy
I have no complaints, I love the product. I use it like a dip on crackers and on bread. It's spicy but not super hot. It's got small, soft pieces of garlic in it, but the overall consistency reminds me of marmite, but it doesn't taste like it at all. I honestly discovered it by accident a few years ago when my husband bought me a jar because he knew I liked garlic. So I don't know what all else you can do with it but it's called a cooking paste and I believe that you can make Indian dishes with it, and there's recipes available. It's a great price and it shipped overnight. It was packaged very well so as not to have any breaking or leaking because it is in a glass jar. It's the first time I tried this brand, and I'm extremely impressed.

The jar lid was loose, with the seal broken, and the food discolored so I never even got to try it. I have purchased it at an Indian supermarket and it was delicious because this pickle contains whole cloves of garlic and wonderful seasoning. Other brands of garlic pickle use chopped garlic and the whole cloves are so much more enjoyable.

Hot!
Very nice flavor but make no mistake, even as Indian pickles go, this one is hot! For me personally, hot is NOT a negative, just be forewarned.

Perfect
A taste I was craving. My Indian housemate in college received jars of homemade Indian pickles from his mom in India, and although they were a little peppery for my Mid-Western palate, I loved them. Mixed in enough rice to reduce the spicy heat, and I couldn’t get enough. That was +40 years ago, and I started missing those amazing flavors of India. I found these pickles on Amazon, and ordered a jar of each of the favorites that I could remember. Eggplant, lime, and mango. The mild mango is perfect. Have ordered a few more jars. The lime is way too spicy hot, but makes amazing marinade for chicken, fish, and pork. And the eggplant is perfect. Sweet, spicy medium hot. Just right. So, if you haven’t had homemade, and you aren’t familiar with these flavors, these are a nice introduction to Indian spice pickles. Try the lime blended into sour cream with fish tacos. Make a mayonnaise dipping sauce with the eggplant for fried chicken wings. And the mango pickles are amazing in a California roll with crab and avocado. Enjoy.

Dynamite flavor!
This nice little jar of Achar is soooo delicious. Achar mixed pickle is one of my favorites at our local Indian restaurant. This product comes very close to fresh restaurant quality. It’s not quite as salty but is more spicy-hot. No complaints here. The color, consistency and flavor are all top notch. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but for a joy like this, it’s worth it. I’ve already ordered my second jar.

Delicious.
I don't have an Indian grandma whose recipe I can compare this to, but this stuff is bomb-diggity when you add a dollop on kichdi/lentil-rice soup. I even ate some on crackers because I started craving it. You only need a little bit because it's very pungent. Shipping is expensive, but the seller can't really help that. (I think they've rolled the shipping into the price of the product since I bought it.) I would buy this again.

Not Patel!
A poor substitute for Patek’s Eggplant Brinjal (here in the UK called “Aubergine Pickle”).
