John Mayer Live: The Great Guitar Performances (Play It Like It Is Guitar)

Let me be clear this book has excellent transcriptions, you won't find any better online. It's a great learning tool....but it could be better. The problem is that it doesn't have enough variety in the pieces it contains, it should be called "John Mayer : Where The Light Is" tab book.There are 14 tracks, 11 of which are from where the light is. It's a great performance no doubt but there are so many others that deserve to be on a book titled "John Mayer Live: The Great Guitar Performances".What about "Man On The Side" and "Back To You" from Any Given Thursday? Or "Come Back To Bed" and "New Deep" from As/Is Volume 4 and 5? There's one review where someone mentions the fingerings appear to be different than what JM actually uses live. That's a valid point, and I would have been really impressed if they'd gotten it right at that level, but I haven't found any place where the notes or timing is wrong.

Over all the music transcripts in this book are pretty good, I did find some errors after watching John play a few of the songs. In other words the notes are correct but it may not be the note & position on the neck that was played live... All in All 4 Stars...

Breaks down some of the best live songs like covered in rain and man on the side

I have been waiting for this for so long. A tabbed out version of Covered in Rain. Honestly it is about 7 years too late. But I would have KILLED for this at the beginning of my guitar journey when I obsessively played john mayer 24 hours a day. Now i've gotten accustomed to doing this on my own. But still this book is robust and amazing. So buy it, worth EVERY penny.

do NOT buy this kindle/digital edition. i did by mistake but thought i'd let it go since i have a kindle that i love. BAD DECISION. the tablature is so small you can't even see it. therefore, the book is a complete waste. i am a great amzn customer and never write reviews but had to voice my opinion here. please don't waste your money. i'm hoping i can get a REFUND!

Great tabs for some of his finest work!

If you love John Mayer and want to see how he plays some of his most famous songs this is the book! Great tabs and chord listings and all the good songs! Even has older songs like Covered In Rain and Comfortable! Highly recommend this. It is faily advanced though, so be prepared for some advanced guitar work.

This book is perfect. Contains songs from Mayer's best live performances that aren't available in regular album books. Detailed run-down with accurate Tabs.
