One of a kind good

I do not have this specific edition, but an older one by the same eminent Arabic translator Muhtar Holland (may God have Mercy on his precious soul). What can I say? This book is absolutely essential to have for anyone who is serious about walking the Path. One of the greatest saints, Shah Naqshband, was reported to have famously said, "Tariqatuna as-suhba wal khairul fil Jamiyyah." ("Our Way is founded on companionship and goodness comes from being with the congregation.")One of the most critical methods of tarbiyyah (spiritual training) is not only companionship with people who are our betters, but people who could be said to "rub us the wrong way". It is very easy to be with people who are like-minded, on the same wavelength as us, but quite another to be with those who are starkly different, very annoying and perhaps even intolerable. It is attributed to Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi that he said, "If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror ever be polished?" In this world we are living with everyone and must bear with them just as they have to bear with us and our many shortcomings. This book is a guidepost to help us seekers to do just this.

The Duties of Brotherhood is an excellent book of the great scholar and Sufi mystic Imam al Ghazali on the best behavior between people. The e-book does not contain a table of contents. To get around this, I went through the book and bookmarked each chapter. That is sufficient for a TOC for this brief book.
