Life's Too Short

Another fantastic book
Another fantastic book by Abby Jimenez. This book deals really well with real life issues, particularly surrounding disability. There are so many parts of the book that make you pause and think about how you're living your own life. The connection between Adrian and Vanessa is so well written and there are frequent laugh out loud moments....and some tears too.I'm looking forward to Abby's next book.

Formularity, frustrated and predictable
I don't understand why this book has so high review. I have read the other books from the author and they are all the same formular. This one and the Friendzone is particular "the same". A super hot guy (handsome, hot body, talented) and a girl with so many problems. Guys meet girls, suddenly fall in love (like crazy), girls friendzone guys because of problems (that are not really problems) and at the end always super happy. The feelings while I was reading the book is frustrated! And the sex part is...sorry, not romantic at all!

An escape when the world around us is blowing up
Jimenez's writing squeezes the classical emotions into her novel vividly to warm you up and make you want to snuggle. It's like you are right in the living room with Vanessa and Adrian binge-watching The Office! And, isn't that a writer's dream? However, the book's angst factor(s) is its weakness. The characters come across as ignorant because of it which makes them less relatable. I would have enjoyed more action from baby Grace. After all, a two-week-old infant needs more than just a bottle and a diaper change.Jimenez's white picket fence style of writing quickly dissolves all worries to bring a happy ending for everybody in her books. It can tug at the realist inside you but right now, we all could use a few hours of romantic escape.Angst in a romance novel — is the push-and-pull of emotions experienced by both characters or something which holds them back from committing until they finally get their happy ending
