Corrected Laptop Inability to Charge with YouTube Help
Our laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 (5566) would not charge. Did the easy stuff first by replacing the charger and battery without success. After looking at YouTube and internet decided the next step was the charging port. The picture makes this cable/port look much larger than it is. Initially missed it in the bottom of the box, then thought for sure it couldn't be this little thing. It was. Reached out to a local computer repair company and they wanted over $150 to install it. I found a step by step video on YouTube that started at the beginning with my laptop model (5566) opening it up, replacing the port, then closing it up. Took the video guy 25-mins, me a little over an hour because I would watch the step, then repeat it. I did test the port before closing it up and it worked. Been three weeks now and no issues. This $7 port has extended the life of this 6-year old laptop.

Power jack works like a charm.
The power jack is made exactly for the laptop advertised for, same length and overall size, and works great. Definitely will order again when needed.

Trash.
It came broken, needed to be soldered back together. Then it burnt out using the standard wattage and voltage. Absolute garbage.
