This is a review of the "1000C" model which has been bundled into the same page as a few others. I bought this mainly to diagnose a problem with a fridge freezer and chose it over similar competing models as it has slightly better specs, at least on paper.The device feels well made and is very simple to operate - literally just point and shoot. The screen is nice and clear and the backlight is very useful. The only thing that wasn't immediately obvious to me was how to change the emissivity value, but the included paper manual does an adequate job of explaining such things.From my testing it seems like the device is at least reasonably accurate but I've not done any scientific testing.One of the reviewers mentioned that their screen was badly scratched but it was almost certainly due to the screen protector that is preinstalled. It's a little hard to spot as it matches the outline of the screen almost perfectly, but can be peeled off with a little patience.

Amazon 66IR360 thermometer is robust plastic construction with splash resistant shell. Operation is simple with MIN/MAX/AVG/DIF display cycled by button press. Emissivity is adjustable which is essential if an accurate reading is needed from multiple materials. Laser is central spot with 8 surrounding guide spots. From a Matt black E=0.96 target readings settle within 2 secs in the 20-100degC range. Repeatability is better than 1degC. The stable tripod (camera)mount is useful to minimise variation due to shake.The unit also comes with a K type thermocouple that plugs into hidden socket. I've used this to compare contact and IR measurements and tweak the E value. My main use is measuring semiconductor temperatures. Only negative I've found is the mono LCD display, though backlit, it has limited viewing angle and display fades in high ambient temperatures.(eg >40C if your heat gun accidentally blows on it) Operates from two AAA batteries (supplied) and comes with black soft case with belt slot and wrist strap.There are cheaper units and much more expensive pro units that have calibration certs etc. I'd say this is only semi-pro useful for comparison measurements but needs calibration in situ if you want reasonable absolute measurements. Think its good value and worth the little bit extra cost just not to have garish plastic colours. 9/10

Really pleased with this. The supplied K type probe goes through the side of our Raku kiln and gave a constant reading. However the IR reading was useful to be able to gauge the temperature of the pottery pieces inside the kiln. The readings were generally accurate and agreed to the K type probe.Made a huge difference - firing without a thermometer was hit and miss and didn't go well. With this, we can control the temperature and carry out a timed and accurate firing.Also has functions like average, max temp, alarm etc.Recommended.

From the images, this device seemed well built but it was let down by a very scratched screen which needs to be made from a harder plastic considering it would be heavily used. It seemed accurate and was easy to use. Would have liked to award more stars but not quite good enough although not bad price.

I'm so glad I purchased this for reading the temperature of my kiln. It is really easy to use and such good value for money

Used for 70C (checking pipe lagging around the house), and also 400C (pizza oven stone temperature). Accurate and easy to use for both tasks.

Bought to check the temperature of reloading brass that is being annealed. I'm still trying to get that one down pat but useful for other measuring duties.

Es funktioniert absolut super und wer sich darüber beschwert dass spiegelnde Flächen nicht gemessen werden können hat die Funktionsweise nicht verstanden. Das ist nämlich unmöglich, dann müsst ihr schon etwas mattes auf diese Fläche kleben um da zu messen. Auf der Arbeit habe ich ein optisches Messgerät für 17k€ - das kann das ebenfalls nicht.Ich messe im Bereich von 400-500 grad. Schwankungen von 10 grad interessieren mich daher nicht wirklich.

Ce thermomètre infrarouge à visée laser est très intéressant et fiable. Il donne rapidement de bonnes mesures si l'on respecte les conditions d'utilisation de son manuel. Je vous le recommande sans hésiter. Il peut être aussi utiliser pour vérifier si les murs, les portes ou bien les fenêtres de notre logement sont bien isolés ou non. Pour cela il scanne les zones à analyser en maintenant la gâchette enfoncée. Là où la température sera la plus basse (par rapport à la température moyenne de la pièce où l'on se trouve), c'est à cet endroit où la chaleur sera le plus perdue. C'est déjà une approche intéressante d'un diagnostic thermique basique et peu onéreux.

Die inneren Werte stimmen und der Extrasensor ist ein netter Bonus. Ein separates Aussenfach dafür wäre hilfreich, aber Preis und Leistung passen für mich.

Facile de prise en main, très confort en paramétrages, mais changer les piles est fastidieux: dévisser tout leur logements, et elles sont méchamment à insérer.
