Is the Pepsin derived from bovine or porcine?

I called DB customer service & was told porcine

What is the source of the Pepsin used in this product? The Amazon description states "all vegetarian" but label says "not suitable for vegetarians".

Manufacturers were efficient in responding to email. This product is made from BOTH porcine and bovine (pork and beef). The pepsin is pork the capsules are bovine. Beware if ALLERGIC.

How many mg are there in this product?

Betaine HCL 650 mg, Pepsin (1:10,000) 25 mg, and Gentian root 20 mg per capsule.

Mine is about to expire next month, oct,2017. Is it still potent or should I buy a new bottle

Manufacturers put a 'safe' expiration date on the label. If things are kept at the recommended temperature, or cooler, it will last LONG after that date. Some medications, which were found to be between 21 and 40 years 'outdated' in the shelves of a pharmacy, after testing, still retained 90%+ of potency. I would not expect this stuff to last as long, not even close, but it does not lose potency suddenly; from one day to the other. Hope this helps.
