Legend Of Korra, The: Turf Wars Part One

The Legend continues! In comic book form!
Turf Wars Part One is a perfect continuation of the show, taking place a few weeks after the end of the series.Much like the Last Airbender comic book series, even after the end of the series there are a few problems after "The End".Korra and Asami's relationship and how the outside world would view it (and an exploration of homo/bisexuality in the Avatar universe which is interesting), gangs popping up around Republic city after Kuvira's failed invasion and the President of the city showing his true colors, that of a grubby politician which you could partially see in the series.Awesome artwork, beautifully written characters and just the sense of the show being in a new medium is more than a reason enough to get this book.

I have to say that it has been amazing to return to the world of the Avatar series
Even though Amazon had previously leaked most of the pages, I have to say that it has been amazing to return to the world of the Avatar series, and specifically follow up on Korra and Asami's shenanigans after they get together. The comic is little in size (smaller than it appears on here) but very easy to carry for this very same reason.

Off to a great start
Korra and asami's relationship is precious, it is a delight to see the budding romance and intimacy these characters share. As far as the plot and themes presented, from LGBT issues in the avatar world, the insightful commentary on democracy, the rebuilding of a war torn city and the increasing intensity of human/spirit relations, turf wars part 1 is what any first chapter should be, a wonderful introduction to, hopefully, another great story.

Great
My son love this book. We didn't realise it was written in comic form, but I think it works well for him as he read it twice in one day! He's read it about 3 or 4 times now. Will get the next one!
