Very helpful
I am sure, if you really follow those rules, you will succeed. the problem is, that most people don't do that.

Practical and applicable trading system from a 40 year trader.
Of all the pundits and gurus available, this author has the best most practical approach to trading. The techniques are viable and the Channel Breakout strategy is fundamental to trading successfully. Courtney has taken Turtle Trading to a new refined level where the risks are manageable and has techniques to improve the performance of the basic system. This volume is devoted to Forex, though the techniques are applicable to stocks and futures as well as Forex, so when I studied his other works I was familiar with the approach. The techniques Courtney outlines are easy enough to understand with some study. Objective strategies are hard to come by, and this is the focus of his tome. Subjectivity is discouraged, and actual real-world "what do I actually see" is encouraged. Follow the rules as laid out and the results are predictable. He covers the four parts of trading: the Psychology of Trading, or the mindset one must know to survive in the trading environment; Risk Management, an important part of trading so one does not lose one's shirt, still is profitable, and can manage the inevitable losses associated with trading; Fundamental basics for Forex; and mostly the Technical Analysis employed to successfully trade the Channel Breakout and the other trend-following techniques he has in the book, like Coflex, The Bishop, ADX, The Conqueror, and more. Plus, Courtney recommends trading only 15 minutes a day! The idea is that the big money is made on the big moves, and so focus on catching the big moves. Buy your own copy, read it, and see that your own approach to trading is improved!

Paid for itself on the 1st trade
If you are looking to investment in the Forex market then this is a good starting point.WHAT THIS BOOK IS:1) A complete set of trading strategies with entry and exit points laid out clearly. Although you have to pay some attention to what is being said because there are a couple of 'mis-statements' that won't make sense until you realize they are editting errors and/or typos.2) A long-term way of investing your money in a reasonably conservative fashion.3) A good way of earning 5+% return per month on your capital.WHAT THIS BOOK IS NOT:1) A day trader's bible. All strategies are based on daily and weekly price movements.2) A get rich quick scheme. Face the facts, making 5+% per month is pretty darn good. Anyone who promises more is full of what we hauled out of the calf pens when I was growing up.Yes, all the strategies are probably available for free 'somewhere' on the internet. But for a couple of bucks you get it all in one spot.I have 1+ years experience trading Forex and in the months of September and October 2010 I made 5+% per month using only the strategies in this book.Would I recommend this to a friend - Yes

Brilliant but flawed
This is a great book, full of ideas that will make money in forex. There is a great section based on DeMark trend lines, another on Channel Breakouts, the chapter on Psychology of successful trading is worth reading and re-reading again and again, the chapter on stochastics left me cold, but then stochastics does that with me. there is a section on "the Conqueror" which I easily programmed into metastock to give good trades. His discussion of adx is very good, with a superb exit based on that indicator.but.............I think wiley have let the author down, or vice versa I dont know which, There are many misprints in this book, which make what ought to be straightforward reading very hard going, as an example, the author is discussing reversal days, when suddenly reversal day ends up being referred to as inside days for a whole paragraph. ok if you are not a beginner, but you might wonder what is going on if you are. Similarly, the chapter on DeMark trends is just plain confusing. I still dont know whether the text got mixed up, the diagrams got mixed up or both - I was able to see beyond the confusion to a great way to trade the market on longer timeframes, but then I am pretty steeped in TA. and by the way, the discussion of inside days is really good, and will make you money.I would recommend this book, it is one of the best I have read on forex, full of great ideas, but spoilt by really sloppy production - and cheap it is not. But buy it and persevere. It should make you money. I would have given it five plus plus if it had been better produced. its not really a book for beginners I would say, though they would benefit from reading it, so long as they feel they can cope with the misprints.

Interesting Read but Strategies Not Tested
A quality book with some interesting ideas although most of them aren’t new. I tried out a few of the strategies and I found them not to work. For example, one strategy based on fractals requires the trader to place an order above or below the latest fractal in line with trend as the previous high or low is broken. Unfortunately what happens most of the time is that price reverses at these levels as they are Support and Resistance levels, the opposite of the strategy proposed in the book.
