Collins Discovering Glasgow: The Illustrated Map (Collins Travel Guides) Map – Folded Map, June 1, 2013

This map is a fairly good scale (1:5600, 11 inches = 1 mile) and encompasses a convenient amount of territory. Location of Scotrail stations are provided as well as the subway stations. On the backside is a small map of "further out" (1 inch = 1 Km) as well as a somewhat enlarged scale map (1:3330, 19 inches = 1 mile) of the downtown center. There are fewer pictures of buildings here so this may be more useful. The back also provides a key for streets, sights, hotels, shops, pubs, eating out. Couple of problems that decrease its star value for me: 1) made of paper that will tear (and I assume can get wet). I would have preferred plastic infused or laminated so that none of the 8 creases will tear. 2) The large, front side map provides pictures of downtown buildings that a tourist might be interested in. However, these are larger in scale than the streets. A building picture might consume 2-3 blocks. That makes it difficult to easily read street names and plan routes as many of Glasgow's streets are one-way.

I loved this map- found it really useful. The one drawback is the buildings sometimes block the streets.

Very detailed with locations in picture form. Will be very helpful on our trip.

I used this map on a recent trip to Scotland, it was a great map with all the points of interest.

Far to big to hold and use, pity as it did have useful info ... less bus numbers and bus stops, would prefer a book size that can be held and used whilst walking around and more info.
