Easy demo without a jackhammer
This product is easy to use. It does a great job of breaking up concrete. It makes it super easy for anyone to use. I used it to break up some uneven concrete at our house. We didn't want to use a jackhammer as it's really hard on the body. This product is easy and anyone can use it. Follow the directions and you will be concrete-free within a few days.

... Ecopbust products on several concrete slab demolition projectts with great results. The latest slab that we used it ...
We've used the Ecopbust products on several concrete slab demolition projectts with great results. The latest slab that we used it on was 12" thick and it had a 24" turn-down edge around the perimeter of the slab. We drilled the slab at the directed spacing on the horizontal surface and we also drilled into the thickened edge at an angle using the same spacing and applied the Ecobustt at those areas as well. The product performed great on both areas. You'll want to be sure to select the proper temperature range and product type for your project, as the only problem that we've had when using it, was when the temperature actually went down lower overnight than it had been forecast to, and it caused a delayed breaking of that particular slab. You'll also want to be mindful of where you leave any leftover material and what it's sitting on or adjacent to, as the product does get very hot as it sets-up.

Didn't work for me, switched to feathers and wedges.
All that hard work drilling huge holes, mixed it up, poured it in, and over the next day it turned to a puffy powder but didn't break any of the granite!?! So I pulled out some old fashioned feathers-and-wedges and split the rock up into pieces. Maybe I had the wrong temperature rating? Maybe I should have waited 2 days? Hated drilling those massive holes in high quartz granite. Shook the life out of me. The teensy tiny pin wedges we're much easier to prepare (tiny holes, cheaper bits) without any mess and now the job is done. Maybe this would have worked better for a softer material like concrete.

Worked but took 3 days to crack rocks.
First you need to realize that you must go on their website for instructions. NOTHING came with the product. Once on their website you only had access to videos for instruction.I used the type 2, 50 - 70 degree F on large rocks on my driveway. Drilled rock as instructed in video, mixed, and poured. Waited overnight, not 3 the 3 hours they said, inspected rock in the morning. Some cracking occurred but I had to wait 3 days for cracks to extend through rock. Granted the rocks I was breaking were quite large but I followed their instructions to the letter. I used a Bosch Demo Hammer and Kubota tractor to finish the job. There are other products out there that do the same thing. Ecobust was a little more expensive than the Dexpan, so next time pick the cheapest product when purchasing. I bought the Ecobust because it said it worked in 3 hours, not true.

Awesome product. Had to get rid of 12" thick
Awesome product. Had to get rid of 12" thick, 5' x 5' concrete section that was poured on top of a 4" floor. 3 of us tried sledge hammer until we were beat, and barely a few chips on the edges. Rented a jackhammer and chipped away about a cubic foot in 4 hours. Slab was just too thick. Bought Ecobust. Rented a large hammer drill and spent all day making 1" holes, on 8" grid, and 11" deep. Mixed and poured in the Ecobust and it did amazing destruction. Cracks after 4 hours! About 1/4" cracks after 12 hours. I left it alone for about 30 hours and then the cracks were about a half inch. Still needed a lot of work with sledge and pry bar to finish, but the job would have been impossible without the Ecobust.

not for all situations/type of rock
Got this to try to break up a huge boulder in our creek that was blocking flow thru a culvert. Now, it is huge & it'd a granite material ( think)-very hard. Three of the 4 bags mixed ok, 1 started to set up while mixing-got real warm. Called the Co. that makes the stuff to see if they had ever heard of this problem. Was told to call the owner/President of the Co., and we had a fairly long conversation(he asked a lot of questions-which I found normal & expected). In the end he offered to send me a complete new order-just email him my shipping info-which I did. A week goes by+/-, and nothing heard back(shipping info, etc). So I called him back & left voice mail msg-no reply. About another week I called tech support to see if the knew if he got my info-was going to check with owner-no reply back. In the meantime I found a better way to do the job(small cracks only with powder). But, as I said earlier-it is a huge rock and I found out very hard to break. It may be ok for smaller rocks, especially free standing-that's what I saw most in videos. Other than that-don't expect too much

This stuff really works
This stuff really works. I needed to break up a 9 inch thick slab (no rebar). I used 1.25 inch holes instead of 1.5 and it still worked. i drilled the holes about every 12 inches. I had an uneven thickness so i accidentally drilled all the way through a few times, so I used spray foam to act as a stopper and re-drilled to remove the excess spray foam. I found it easier to break the slab into 2ft x 3ft chunks and electric jack hammer those smaller to move by hand truck. Way cheaper than a mini excavator or bobcat.

Worked perfectly !
Had a large project whereby bedrock needed to be removed near a railway station and Jack hammering was not an option due to the vibration. Tried Ecobust and amazed to see it work on this project as the rock is a hard blue granite. Now part of our tradestool. Highly recommended.
