5 stars but, probably only 3 stars for actual security. It is built with pretty thin steel for a safe,but, this is NOTa commerical safe. It's a home safe.This is great for those who just suck at saving money like myself, probably servers and bartenders. Drop the cash in, and forget about it until a rainy day. Itll keep your sh!tty roommate out of your money, but not a tweaker. 5 mins with a coat hanger and bubble gum, or 1 solid swing with an axe and youre in.But as I said, It has helped me so much with saving money, 5 stars, thanks for the help.

The price was very affordable. I love the convenience of the drop slot on the top of the unit. I did not realize that the unit was not fireproof because the style was just what I was looking for. I still give it five stars because I liked it so much I forgot about the fireproof rating. I wish it was fire proof.

Used at our church, quality of the lock seems a little cheap but works for our use. Took me a while to figure out how to install using the bolts, but the given bolts are perfect for mounting.

The setup instructions reference a button that doesn’t exist, making it impossible to set a code to open. Even if I had set a code, this safe would be easy to steal and all you’d have to do is turn it upside down and it would be empty.

This depository lock box is protecting papers from identity theft prior to pickup for shredding. If it's bolted and not overflowing, safety is reasonable; it mostly prevents a passive casual walk-by "grab" of miscellaneous but confidential papers. The generously-sized "drawer"-style drop accepts labeled empty medication bottles as well, as it's a good reasonably safe storage place prior inking over the labels. It can also pass reasonable security efforts for locked containment and chain of custody when monitored and not accessed. (Refer to your exact requirements.)I would not trust this alone for extended periods, or unsurveilled with cash or jewelry, since it would be priable with little time and preparation or, simply, improvisation. More expensive depository safes have dual custody locks for some accountability during pickup, much thicker walls, and tighter construction necessary for cash and jewelry, etc. In general, the more expensive the item(s), the more expensive comparable security will be. Also, any drop-box is susceptible to anything (destructive or otherwise unintended) that can be "dropped" in. As a temporary holding place for papers prior to shredding... perfect.
