Solid constuction. Good performance. Good coffee!
THREE MONTH UPDATE: I have used this coffee maker almost every day since I first reviewed it thee months ago. I am still very pleased. It has become my preferred method for making coffee. The ceramic has held up well and still looks new. I have dropped it once on a vinyl kitchen floor (with plywood subfloor) and it did not break.I have increased the amount of ground coffee I use to 1.5 teaspoons per 6 ounce cup. I use 18 oz. of water into a tall 20 oz. "road cup" and it comes out perfect for me.Also. I have upgraded my method of making coffee: Pour in enough boiling water to cover the ground coffee, then stir with a teaspoon until the liquid flows through the filter. Next, wait about thirty seconds to allow the coffee to absorb more moisture. Then fill the cone with more boiling water, stir and allow to filter. Continue until all the boiling water is used. The coffee is ready when the last drop of water has gone through the filter. This method is far more labor-intensive than using an electric drip coffee maker, but it's fun and it tastes great!---------HERE'S MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:Disclosure: I am a American VIP Reviewer for Musiclily. The CEO of Musiclily is a personal friend who has asked me to give honest reviews of his products. I receive discounts for whatever I purchase. Usually I test and review guitar-related products sold by Musiclily. However, I decided to try this coffee maker at the suggestion of Jerry, the company CEO.I drink coffee almost every morning. For years I have been using the same inexpensive electric drip coffee maker and it has worked well. I had never seen this type of coffee maker before. It is a truly "analog" product with no moving parts. Here's how you use it:1) Insert a conical #2 paper filter (Amazon ASIN: B001O0R46I) into the coffee maker.2) Measure 1 teaspoon of ground coffee for each 6 ounce cup of coffee you wish to make.3) Pour the corresponding amount of water into a ketttle or other heating device and bring it to a boil.4) Place the coffee maker over a mug or carafe. (It fits well over a variety of vessels.)5) Pour the boiling water into the filter & coffee. I find that it helps to stir the mixture until it drains through the filter and into the cup.6) Drink.I was skeptical about this product when I first tried it. It looked too simple to work well. However, I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the device is very well built. It is made from reassuringly thick and heavy stoneware ceramic. (Don't drop it on your toe!) It is easy to clean and store. It could not be easier to use.How does the coffee taste? Quite good, although it tastes different in a way that I can't quite explain. Perhaps not as bitter? A true coffee expert could better explain this point. In conclusion, this coffee maker is well made. It is convenient and economical to use. It makes good coffee in small amounts.
