This is the way to go
First of all, I am concerned about how the negative reviewers of this product are using/storing their brush. I have had my Nomad Brush for over 6 months now and I am using it religiously with little to no wear (and I bought mine before the case was available). Secondly, if you are expecting a Wacom Cintiq/Modbook experience from this product then your expectations need to be reset. Go ahead and spend the $1000+ to buy another tablet. If you are looking for a brush to work with your iPad/already purchased tablet and want to actually feel like you are painting, then this is the way to go. The long tip is great for more abstract/larger area work and the really short tip is great for detail and everything else (I use this side the most). I cannot stress enough how much feeling like you are painting is a great motivating factor when using my device to create art. Like picking up any new medium it takes a little time to get used to but it is so well worth it.After using this brush and the Artrage app to create my first iPad painting, I emailed the owner of NomadBrush a copy of it and he featured my painting on the Nomadbrush.com art gallery! I do not mean this as a plug, the message I am trying to convey is that the immense attention focused on the product is also focused on the people who use it.I cannot recommend this product enough, to people who are looking for a unique experience on their iPad/Tablet to make art.

Works great, construction is a bit shaky
I bought this for my Surface Pro and love it. The thing to remember with this (or really any art medium) is that while it attempts to replicate a certain experience it won't be exact, but it is its own thing. In other words, if you buy a tablet with a really good touch screen like the Surface Pro, and then buy a paintbrush like this one, you won't be able to replicate the experience of painting with an actual paintbrush on canvas. That said, it's pretty darn close - it works great with the Windows 8 Fresh Paint app - but it's really its own thing. If you try to use a pencil or chalk to replicate a paintbrush, you're going to be disappointed, but they're great at what they do. Same thing here - this doesn't exactly replicate the experience of paintbrush on canvas, but has its own perks - the brush never gets too wet or dry, you'll always be able to produce the same stroke in particular situations, etc. Upshot is, painting with this is something that you get better and better at the more you do it, and is a blast.Pros:The brush works as expected, and is comfortable to hold and use.Cons:For some reason, the base of the brush can be unscrewed, and it ALWAYS comes loose, so I'm constantly tightening it. Not sure why they didn't just make the handle all one piece. Anyway, it doesn't affect the performance of the brush itself, just annoying.

Not as effective as the original Nomad
I loved the original yet crude Nomad brush. However, this new version is very cool and much better made with a metal handle. Unfortunately the brush hairs are not nearly as responsive. I like the case and the new design but the execution is not as responsive as the first. I still recommend this brush for artists who feel a little awkward using fingers to create on the ipad.

Excellent product, if you have realistic expectations
I received my Nomad Compose yesterday. I did not buy this as my primary stylus, but rather as an additional one to work with the App I use for drawing/painting on my iPad 3 (The New iPad). I use ProCreate, but there are other good art apps out there.I loved working with it, as a practicing professional artist using a brush seems intuitive for me. The brush moves smoothly over the screen, and is thus much better than a rubber tipped stylus, which can tend to catch and skip. The long brush attachment was excellent for filling in background, or for broad sweeps of color, and the Glide Bevel Tip gave good accuracy for finer, more detailed work. You could hand write notes with the Glide Bevel Tip if you wanted to, although other styli might be better suited if this is what you are looking for in a stylus. If you love drawing and using art apps on your iPad, you wont be disappointed with this product. I can see that if you were trying to use it for everyday navigation, and as a general purpose stylus, then you could get frustrated. In any case, this is not the intended use of this brush stylus. It definitely gave greater versatility, and more control, than my finger for drawing. There was no skipping, or jumping on the lines I drew. Yes, there is some lag, but that is the iPad's issue, not the fault of the brush.Unlike others, I didn't find I had to press overly hard, except perhaps while navigating around the app, and I saw no damage to my screen even then. I don't use a screen protector. Having said that, you should always clean your screen with a micro-fiber cloth before you use any stylus. Most screen damage is caused by particles left on the screen that are scratched into the surface when you move the stylus around, not by the stylus itself. The reality is that the development of styli for use on tablets is in its infancy, and I think we all look forward to further advances in this particular field. I think the Nomad Compose is an excellent step in the right direction, and I commend the company for their great product.I agree with previous reviewers who suggest that if you want greater refinement for your drawing, then pay the money for a Wacom Cintiq. All in all, I found this an enjoyable and effective product to use, and I was really excited by the results I achieved. It has quickly become indispensable for me while drawing on the iPad. For sketches on the iPad, using an art app, I highly recommend it.

Decent brush
I own both the Sensu and the Pengo. The Sensu is my favorite because of the stiffness of the bristles—it feels like a real paintbrush. But the bristles on the Sensu can lose their capacitive ability since the bristles are hair coated in a capacitive substance. Nomad is my second favorite. The handle is nicely weighted aluminum. The bristles are capacitive thread, I believe. The brush isn't as stiff as I'd like it to be, but it's a good brush to do watercolors and loose styled painting effects with.

Don't hesitate, it is great.
It is so great to be able to "paint" on my ipad. I love how it feels just like the real thing with none of the mess.
